Reaktion auf die US-Politik: Gog und Lemmy statt Steam und Reddit

  • Klar, wenn man sich auf kleine Untermenge "vernünftiger Hersteller" (was auch immer das bedeuten soll) einschränkt. Die machen aber halt mal einfach nur einen sehr kleinen Teil des Marktes aus. Und interessieren sich auch nicht unbedingt für GOG:

    • Hades I/II: nicht auf GOG aber Steam
    • Animal Well: nicht auf GOG aber Steam
    • Balatro: nicht auf GOG aber Steam
    • Path of Exile 1/2: nicht auf GOG aber Steam
    • Final Fantasy: komplette Fehlanzeige auf GOG
    • Monster Hunter: komplette Fehlanzeige auf GOG
    • Guilty Gear: komplette Fehlanzeige auf GOG

    etc.pp.

    Es stimmt halt einfach, viele gute Titel (auch alte) sind auf GOG einfach nicht verfügbar.

  • G(ood) O(ld) G(ames) hat leider nur meist ziemlich altes Zeugs. Die meisten neuen Spiele auf PC benötigen Steam. Valve ist hier der absolute Monopolist und unabhängige/alternative Vertriebsplatformen wie z.B. BattleNet, Epic oder Ubisoft Connect werden aktiv von Gamern boykottiert.

  • Vivaldi is great, but because of manifest v3 i'm looking for alternatives. Firefox is not an alternative for me because of the privacy stuff they changed recently.

    • Cloudflare announces AI Labyrinth, which uses AI-generated content to confuse and waste the resources of AI Crawlers and bots that ignore “no crawl” directives.

  • We've just had 500 billion in infrastructure investments over a span of 12 years approved by our goverment. That's 41 billion/year. Obviously we have those 3 billion to spend.
