  • I'm American and I'll say both. They(we) let it happen, and our cowardice and inaction right this second just continues it. We had millions of protesters over the weekend. Did anyone listen? Nope. Until we take it back by force, nothing will change and the majority isn't willing, so, we're just gonna take it. Every second of inaction is willingness on our part. It can always get worse and does, yet we do nothing.

We deserve it. Maybe it will finally wake us the fuck up, if it doesn't destroy us first.

What are your last-minute purchases before tariff hell begins?

  • I use an A15 and don't use the SD card slot, but I have a home server and handheld gaming devices. I don't use my phone to store much of anything.

I'm an outlier. I know a lot of users live in their phones without hardly any backup devices. Those are the ones who will be hit hardest by a decision like this.

  • The only clothing item I buy for durability is boots. All the rest of my clothes are the cheapest possible shit I can find, because it doesn't matter.

No one on earth can convince me a $60 pair of jeans is worth $60.

  • Yeah, it is.

I can support myself but, no one else barring a few piddly donations I make once a month to wikipedia and NPR. I make enough to have a teeny bit of fun on top of my rent. I can buy my tools, work on my car and be the dude I've always been.

how do you work on your car in an apartm-

I drive to O'Reilly's and tear it apart in their parking lot. They see it as advertisement. Win for me. Win for them.

I've come to accept that retirement might be by way of Smith and Wesson, but I'm 37, helping who I can, doing what I can and just trying to be, man, and I think I'm doing an ok job.

I see my folks, visit my mom, pay my taxes and stay out of most people's way. When the time comes that insurance doesn't pay out for some such terminal illness, I won't feel that bad about going out early. I don't have a god to disappoint.

How are my fellow Americans preparing for the upcoming apocalypse?
