Based. Unskippable logo screens are a nuisance.
I was expecting some sort of "It's out of this world" punchline
I've got a t14 and it works perfectly under fedora 40. My only complaint is that the Left Ctrl key isn't in the corner.
I remember watching a youtube video about UI design on computers and the lady narrator said that the corners of the screen have effectively infinite size. I don't remember anything else but that line stood out.
BUTTERFLIES ARE REALLY PRETTY.
Oh cool I've been looking for something like mobaxterm but for Linux. I'll definitely check this out.
Everything went smooth for me though my install is fairly pedestrian.
They'd need better writers for one thing. I don't know about Starfield but skyrim and fallout 4's writing was dreadful.
SURE CAN BROTHER JUST HOLD STILL. OOP IT'S QUITE WRIGGLY HOLD ON ALMOST GOT IT. THERE YOU GO FRIENDO. WANNA GO GET SOME BEERS?
Where are you expecting to see the host in windows? In the Network window? If so you'll want to install, enable and run wsdd2
I'll vouch for airvpn. I've been using it for probably six years now with no issues. When using wireguard I can download Linux isos at 500mbps.
My dad had frozen shoulder after getting a single heart bypass. It was caused by some medication he was given. A lady died due to the medication and/or the frozen shoulder. This was 25 years ago.
It never even occurred to me to consider the height of the boxes lol
Why is the bar for Windows as long as the bar for cats?
I hear you.
Okay that's good to know, thanks!
I'm considering switching from Windows 10 to something either using KDE or the new Cosmic DE that System76 is working on. Right now I've got a 3060TI.
A few hours ago I received a PM from someone and I replied. I clicked edit but chose not to change anything so I clicked save and my entire message was deleted! Fortunately the message wasn't very long so I didn't have to type much but still.
This is my one main complaint about Fedora Linux.
When the video is nearly finished this little box pops up prompting you about what video is going to play next, could we get a button to mark the current video as a favourite?
I bought a Roku Stick the other day to take with me on trips so I can watch my videos in the hotel room. I hooked it up and installed the jellyfin app and started watching a TV show. After about a minute playback stopped and I was returned to the home screen of the Jellyfin app but the only thing that was listed were my libraries. I exited and re-entered the jellyfin app and started watching the same episode. The same thing happened.
Jellyfin logs: https://pastebin.com/eCPp3Tiu Transcode logs: https://pastebin.com/9uAVePbW
I only tried the one video, I'll try some others and see what happens.
[Edit] I tried a couple of other videos and they seem to be fine, must be something particular with that one video
I'm thinking of getting a roku streaming stick for travelling
I followed these instructions but they just install the server side of jellyfin which I don't need. I tried the flatpack option but the software GUI that Fedora KDE comes with seems to have no idea what to do with the flatpakref file
I've only got a couple of categories, one for sonarr, prowlarr (for some reason), and Games. They each have their save path set and thus I would expect any torrent added under the Games category would be saved in the path set for that category. But they're not, they're dumped in the default save path making that folder a hot mess. What's the deal? Why are categories so terrible?
I'd like to be somewhat vague because my job is somewhat niche. For my job I made custom products that are made up of subcomponents that cost me either by the foot, by the pair, or individually. So a particular product may include 5 feet of X, Y and Z, a pair of V and 1 of T and U. Then I add a bit for profit.
Right now I have a somewhat simple spreadsheet that has all my components and their costs listed which are then referenced on other sheets. The problem is adding or removing components is a real pain in the ass because I'd have to edit each and every sheet.
I'd like a better system where I can create a new product then from a drop down or something pick all the relevant components and enter how many of that component I need. Then create a quote that I can email to a client that lists the final cost of a bunch of products.
I'd prefer this to be a, open source web app but it can be a desktop application.

Come get your tanks!
Someone linked a site that lets you search all the Lemmy communities but I lost the link. IIRC it presented all the communities in a tile based layout.
On reddit if I wanted to refer to a subreddit I'd type /r/oneOrangeBraincell/ and that would get turned into a link. What's the lemmy equivalent?
Years ago I tried modding Fallout New Vegas and I think 4 on Fedora ages (I was running Fedora 28 at the time) ago using Mod Organizer 2 and it wouldn't work for reasons I didn't understand, possibly file system related. I'm thinking of switching to Pop! OS full time but I'd still like to play either modded Skyrim or FO4 from time to time, preferably using MO2.
I go to a random post, read some comments, collapse them then upvotes another comment. All the comments I collapsed are uncollapsed! Why?! What is the point of that?! Is that something I can turn off?
