Well it does depend on who told you this. If a known liar said it and you still believed it, this may be on you.

Sure why not? This is not hard math. Lets say you get x dollars per candidate. If you have candidates running in all ridings you get max cash. If you only have a candidate running in one riding you get much less cash.

It is the start of summer. I do not remember a time when gas prices did not raise at this time of year. I could not tell you all the reasons why but this has happened every summer since the 60s when I started driving.

Ban private contributions to political parties. Each party should be given an amount of money from the government to run their campaign. Everyone gets the same amount. Elections should be designed so that they cannot be bought. Also ditch first past the post.

Design the roads so that they are unpleasant to use above the speed you are trying to achieve. This method has had great success in the Netherlands.
