As much as I want A&M to be highly ranked when we meet them, I just can't be unhappy with them stepping on a rake in the national spotlight
I, uh, would suggest y'all just stop trying to kick FGs at this point
Semi-serious question: do y'all have a special teams coordinator?
Feels like every time I tune into this game, Beck throws an interception
Maalik Murphy threw several interceptions (although the last one was a tipped ball). And Miami scores super quickly so they rack up a lot of possessions and cash in on basically all of them
Stupidly entertaining for a neutral fan. I can't imagine trying to watch this game if I were a fan of either team
I don't think so. It's possibly because Allar is banged up (although he doesn't look it), but probably to confuse OSU's defense
The SEC will begin handing out fines for teams that fake injuries in college football games, according to multiple reports on Friday.
Well it's certainly Halloween because seeing A&M in the banner (and ahead of my Longhorns) is a huge fright for me. But hey, we got two teams from the Lone Star state in the banner for once. Now we have to get three in there -- Pony Up!
Also, bias aside, I'm really disappointed an OSU shot up eight whole spots for a lackluster performance against Nebraska. If anyone submits a human poll, I'd really like to know the reasoning why they deserve such a high ranking. Because I watched that game and Nebraska looked like the better team to me.
I thought the university was very cash-strapped and that it wouldn't be feasible to pay Neal Brown's buyout and get a new coach. Although I just looked it up and I guess I had missed the off-season news that they restructured his contract to have a lower buyout. (And I guess Pat McAfee could probably cover whatever it is anyway?)
If they axe him this season, who do you think they'll go for? There's a West Virginia native with an impressive resume that is available... (low hanging fruit joke, I know)
Oh I feel like it always places A&M too high (even trying to compensate for the Burnt Orange Bias), but this season it feels right. I'm surprised your computer has y'all as low as 12th -- although that is a very A&M number.
The hype for that game was always going to be off the charts, but I really hope we both run the table getting there to up the ante. It also becomes a de facto play-in game to the SECCCG. It would be awesome if that game could be a rematch, although unfortunately one of the teams will likely be Georgia. :/ There is good rematch potential in the playoff though. Salivating at the idea of beating A&M twice in one season...
My ballot. Computer poll. My Longhorns fall out of the top spot. Womp womp.
I genuinely checked USC about 5 times over the past couple days to make sure I didn't input any data incorrectly or screwed up the formula, but it actually has them tied for 9th. It's super nutty, but everything else checks out. The reason the Trojans are so high is mostly their schedule -- they didn't play any FCS teams, which get heavily docked in my algorithm. Although they've lost 4 games, they're all by 1 score. But with ND at the end of the year, that schedule is just brutal. It's like they're trying to get Lincoln Riley fired.

FSU @ 2Miami
Cool flea flicker for a Ward TD reception. As for going for 2, I normally disapprove of running up the score, but I demand it in rivalry games
Sparty @ Michigan
So we really going to keep switching around QBs all season? I mean, it seems to be working in this one (although I haven't caught much of it), but it is tiresome. I would even prefer the monotony but stability of a mediocre QB like Shea Patterson to this
7 Penn State @ Wisconsin
Thinking this is where Penn State turns from a carriage back into a pumpkin (well, I thought it would be against USC). Especially if Allar doesn't come back out for the 2nd half
12 LSU @ 18 aTm
Not a fan of black alternate unis, and the aggies are certainly no exception. Go Tigers
4Texas @ Vandy
It's early but I'm already at the limit of Johnny Manziel references. If they mention him more than once each quarter I am going to be physically ill. Although I might already be, seeing as we're playing as half-assed as we did last week
It still beats the TV deal that C-USA had. I remember watching some UTSA games on Stadium network. Others I couldn't find at all...
Nebraska with the lead now! Wish the Neyor TD would have stood. Always love seeing former Longhorns having success, but at least he still kept that drive alive
Tuned into this one just in time to see Howard throwing an INT. Please Nebraska, beat an ohio state university. I want them out of the B1G championship game picture
Boise @ UNLV seems like it'll be a really good game. Too bad I probably won't catch much of it, if any. Why in the world it's a 10:30 Eastern kick and on CBSSN is beyond me...

The main area of downtown Boone, not far from the campus of Appalachian State, was completely flooded Friday after Hurricane Helene made landfall.

With all the talking heads on TV proclaiming that this season is unlike any other, I'm curious how the community feels. Totally new landscape of CFB or just more of the same? How do we all feel about:
- Helmet communication (for only 1 player on the field per team except on free kicks)
- Tablets on the sidelines (up to 18 per team)
- The 2 minute timeout
- Corporate logos on fields (no longer requires the stadium to be named after the sponsor)
- New homes for Arizona, ASU, Cal, CU, Oregon, ou, SMU, Stanford, Texas, UCLA, USC, Utah, Washington
- Expanded playoff (probably too early to tell on this one)
- New TV deals (SEC on ABC, B1G on CBS)
- Current season of Fansville (Ewers could be a Heisman candidate but he sure won't be winning any Oscars)
For reference, here are the P4 vs P4 records so far:
- ACC: 6-8
- B1G: 5-5 (or 5-6 if counting ND)
- Big XII: 5-6
- SEC: 8-5 (or 8-6 if counting ND)
4th and 5, the national championship on the line right here...
