We can't be friends.
  • Yes, you can. In fact, you should. When you let klan members march you gain something important. You get them out in the open and see their true colors. And if you're a Daryl Davis type, you can change minds and make the world better. By cutting off people you disagree with, you cut off communication. And those people go underground, and get worse. If someone is saying something that is bad how do you expect that to change without discourse? The left used to be able to steelman the rights positions, and walk them to back to a more reasonable position. Now it seems mostly what I see is the left saying, "I'm right, and you need to be cast out of society." I'm aware there are truly bad actors (Milo Yiannopoulos types) that are just grifters and don't deserve the conversation. But do you really think that half of America is just grifting? For society to get better, you have to love your enemies too. And the only way to fight bad ideas, is with better ones.

  • How can I improve my communication with a friend I like?
  • I'll help with the deep conversation part. All conversations can go deep, if you keep questioning them.

It's hot out today. -is it getting hotter every year? Seems like it. I think it's global warming. -what do you think the solutions are?

I think Gary is cool. -what do you like about him? He's got a sweet mustache -have you always liked mustaches? My uncle had a mustache, he used to takes us to cool places when we were kids. -would you say your uncle had a big impact on your life?

The point is, if you keep inquiring a step deeper, the conversation inevitably becomes deep. Good luck, and have fun.

  • Let us show Putin we have ability to hit targets deep inside Russia, Ukraine urges west
  • I know how it works. It's just gross. Watching seemingly endless money get poured into a war machine so we can get right up on russias border.. And at the end of the day, Flint Michigan still has undrinkable water. Guess I'm just getting a bit tired of suffering getting the lion share of our tax dollar.

  • Have you noticed an increase in political fighting?
  • You are exactly the guy a don't encounter in real life. But I think lemme is right. The reason I don't hear you, is because if you advocated for punching conservatives at a bar, you would get hit by a conservative. So you don't say it out loud when that's possible. You give permission to others when there are no consequences to yourself.

  • Have you noticed an increase in political fighting?

I travel a lot, and talk to a lot of different people. I've noticed that while people certainly do have differing opinions, it's not as extreme as what I see online. I'm starting to feel like all this hate and division is manufactured. Has anyone else noticed, that when you actually talk to real people things are far less divided than various media would have you believe?

  • I live in the bay area, and wish we had more mixed zone housing. But then I see it in action in other cities and see they end up crazy expensive. So I'm not sure if it helps anything at all. Does anyone know of this actually helps or hurts?
