  • Keep in mind that the Nazis will doxx other Nazis as agent provocateurs if that gives them an excuse to shut down their critics.

  • Extra funny if you knew of the people who were "playing" Eve Online psychopaths, who had and still have the tendency of toying with the mental gymnastics of portraying the Sith as the good guys and the Jedi as the bad guys and decided over a decade now to get involved in propping up the Trump movement.

  • Implying they already have it from Google's side.

  • Wait, you expected the modlog to show actual reasons? As it is it's basically a joke now that you can't even contest. It is a literal power trip, but at least does tell you when and where you have been banned from, so at least it has that compromise.

  • A lot of it was built with US soft power, but a lot of it was kept in check because of US soft power. I wouldn't place bets on everything suddenly toppling to the ground, because that'd be ignoring the opportunities that have been made by removing the soft power barriers. It's as foolish to assume as claiming to be able to take Ukraine in three days.

  • There's a lot of gaslighting on Lemmy, specially because of the nature of by and whom it was founded for. Troll factories play both sides: https://www.wired.com/story/russia-indictment-twitter-facebook-play-both-sides/

  • No amount of exposure to news will convince people like you of your narrative. But how does your mental lapse even work? First, you gaslight about Democrats, then you claim to be aware of what the GQP is going to do, and now after demonizing or recognizing as bad any of the two choices you have you now try to argue that you have a choice? Consistency is not your forté.

  • Musk sold around half of his shares in 2024. That's when he actually makes his money, and this year is when he would have had to pay taxes on it. Musk may already realize his Tesla business is over, he's just focusing more on cashing out and having that money be worth more now.

However, like the article says, he's still getting a sweet deal out of this as states will continue to receive “reimbursement of existing obligations” and Tesla was their key recipient. It will affect his competitors more than it does him, and he will be in government when or if a new deal has to be made. It affects the competitors specially because they would be the ones the states that did not immediately accept Tesla's offer would have been considering. Now, they no longer have those funds to offer while the deals with Tesla that would have gone through because they were the first offers will still get reimbursed.

  • Those are better odds than the lottery. Has anyone set up a betting pool yet?

  • Don't worry, the US looks like US voters won't have to worry about being able to have any effective choice for much longer.

  • Not the European institutions. They exist on their own merits that have nothing to do with building social webs.

I'm also sick of LIVE news channels hosting on YouTube that enable chat rooms without any supervision and force it onto your face unless you close them. Just disable that shit, you aren't dedicated streamers, who do bother to moderate chats.

"Social webs" where they are not needed are just increasingly becoming an opportunity to saturate with shit posts, fake news, and propaganda by randoms. I am not going to them for a random two cent Joe's opinion, I am going to them for whatever their trained and paid professionals are providing.

It can be federated to some degree, but shouldn't be as a two way participant . For example, as a read only instance whom you can receive a user in if you are part of that institution, but whose use will also be limited to that instance and with only a very limited and controlled portion of those instances being shared with other instances.

  • Or, hear me out, whatever happened to just hosting your own fucking website and RSS stream? Not everything needs to an opportunity for a random Joe to drop his two cents in.

  • Americans had one vote, and you guys continue to gaslight what it effectively was, for Trump or against Trump. What it wasn't was an opportunity to change the system by making a political statement, and now all anyone who has fallen for this rhetoric has done is cemented where it's heading to now. To change it you would have had to work outside the system. Now, even attempting to do so is far more likely to get you locked up. Congrats.

  • The more I think about it, the more this sort of gaslighting reminds me of Eve Online shenanigans. Which is fair, after all, users like Jibrish moderate r/eve like they do r/conservative.

  • So basically, still in denial about how Trump and Netanyahu are going to absolutely wipe out Gaza from history now while gaslighting'ing as hard as r/conservative. The overlap with the way Trump voters handle politics is astounding.

  • It's been a couple of years since Teslas were the go-to option, at least this is making people catch up to the fact.

  • The chicken that laid the golden eggs.

  • It should consider it. The EU isn't the US, joining isn't a requirement to stay as Brexit has showed, and joining a common Euro economy is a good way for Canada to stabilize it's dollar problem. It should begin normalizing its trade and regulations to those required by the EU if it's interested. Unfortunately, it would also mean not accepting the trash that's allowed to circulate within the US and which Canada is pressured to accept, which would limit trade with a land neighbor.

  • That security and those in the white house are part of those millions of Americans, and there's more than can be done than just targeting him outright. It's funny that Texas and California have large secessionist movements coming from the GQP, but when the nation is at risk of actual fascism, there's nothing remotely similar coming from Democrats. There is a world of different options available to those who seek it, I'm just stating this one as an example that the other side has no problem considering.
