  • This feels good when I can actually do it. Most of the time it's just suffering though.

  • Interesting, that's good input. I had that issue the time before my last visit when I bought new frames. They did not do anything with fitting and just gave me the frames off the shelf. I did not know that wasn't a common practice until last time. They took time to do a fitting. Still ended up with Oakley though, maybe not next time.

  • In the majority of cases it is not dangerous. In rare circumstances it can be dangerous. This is something that should be discussed with a medical professional prior to beginning.

Any time you are going to have a restrictive diet change it should be discussed with your doctor.

  • Hey, I wear normal Oakley prescription glasses and they're great. They were the most comfortable frames at the optometrist. Didn't even know they were Oakley until after I bought them. That being said, I'm not saying you're wrong.

  • It's a ridiculous diet for someone with no preexisting conditions. There may be medical reasons to go on it. It is not necessary, and can be dangerous, for just anyone to attempt it to lose weight. And don't get me started on all the keto friendly supplements that are hawked to people.

  • Yeah, that's a big part of the problem is that most people view being fat as unhealthy. They aren't synonymous. A lot of foods that are processed contribute to this by sneaking in fats and sugars. The problem is that what is considered to be a processed food, even a highly processed food, doesn't necessarily need to do that. For instance, flour by itself would be considered to be highly processed. Same with a frozen pizza made entirely of "whole" ingredients.

  • You seem to know what you're talking about. Why can Reddit have porn and do those things but Tumblr can't?

  • All I'm going to say is that there are a lot of misconceptions about what processed food means and this is just a part of the war on fat people. If we don't systemically change our food availability systems and how society is structured these problems will continue to exist.

  • I enjoy their products but I certainly don't agree with their practices. Thing is, I don't have the energy required to untether myself or get around anti ad blocking. It's just too much and it's honestly the least of my concerns in life.

  • Saw her during the Masseducation tour in Miami Beach. Incredible show, had my face thoroughly melted. Good times.

  • I'm constantly apologizing at work because I cannot write and speak at the same time.

  • I do feel a bit like a moth to the flame since learning about Lemmy. Definitely feel more attracted to alternatives to mainstream solutions and products. I don't know if that's a strictly neurodivergent behavior or not though.

  • Thanks for the responses and being here everyone. It really means a lot.

  • That is good advice, but definitely out of reach for a lot of people.

  • That's true, thank you. My wife said as much as well but I always pressure myself into things because I feel like they are important. I need to remember to take care of myself as well. Not easy.

  • Thank you. I'm not the best at communicating my needs, especially mental needs, this is very helpful.
