Why aren't all the people Biden has killed and hurt real to them? What the hell is happening in their minds?
  • Didn't he win the prize before taking office? I might be remembering wrong.

Edit: Nah, it was 8 months in. Still wildly early, considering.

Their only fig leaf in retrospect is that the full scope of his crimes was not yet known, although some were.

  • I realized that I haven't listened to any albums from 2024 yet so I downloaded a bunch, this is my playlist for today, it'll be my first time hearing each album, what am i in for?
  • Jacob Collier - Djesse vol 4 (not for everyone but it's exactly my shit)
Lucy Rose - This ain't the way you go out
Catpack - both their singles are killer and their debut album comes out in June.
Cory Wong - The Lucky One (vinyl came out 2024 still counts even tho released late 2023)
Milton + Esperanza is prolly gonna be my album of the year, comes out soon and the first single is called "Outubro" out now.
Magdalini - For Spring (pretty good, world music with great harmony and rhythms)
Lawrence - Family Business (not out yet, check out their last album Hotel TV though.
Feel Better, Pt. 3 - Abbi Berry

  • There is a hunger that can be met only by the cheapest and gaudiest of wraps
  • I still dislike it for the fact that it doesn't even try to absorb impacts and instead is as rigid as possible. The drivers are at risk in crashes but more importantly, any pedestrian, commuter, or other driver is at grave risk in an accident.

It's a car for people who don't care about the well-being of others.

The visual design is not even a little bit why I dislike the cyber truck.

  • Grimes DJ Nightmare On Coachella 2024 EXTENDED (All 8 DJ Fails)

I normally don't criticize artists, but come on. You don't have a tech guy on your DJ set at COACHELLA when you don't know how to do it? They must be paying her like $1 million to DJ and she can't even bring a tech person that knows how to fix a double tempo issue.

Also the bible verse into LLM messiah complex bit at the beginning removes all sympathy.

If a performance is going badly, typically you don't want to apologize in the middle of it. And if you do, just do it once, not 6 times.

This Ain't The Way You Go Out, by Lucy Rose

Highly recommend this album. The topic is

CW medical misogyny, horrible illness, chronic pain

she had post-pregnancy osteoporosis (undiagnosed) with exquisite pain and her doctors wouldn't fucking believe her and LITERALLY called her hysterical. She asked for an MRI and they refused and then she paid for her own and guess what? She had 10 fractured vertebrae.

Aside from the powerful topic, the album is all in the same key and has like 10 distinct, amazing grooves on similar chords. This plus the addition of several interludes gives the impression that it isn't just a few songs, but it's actually all part of one longer work. Lucy's voice is amazing, and her piano arrangements are KILLER.

The audio production (especially creative techniques) are to die for as well. Excitingly beautiful reverb, and on the track Dusty Frames there is this warbly effect on the piano that sounds like it was badly compressed to MP3 which brings back major nostalgia for me.

You can listen on Bandcamp for free, but 8 pounds/10 USD is a steal for this record.

I wanted to buy the signed vinyl but shipping is over $20 to the US. The album cover is CLASSIC style, though.

Favorite Tracks: Over When It's Over, Dusty Frames

Please listen to this shit it's my current favorite song. Absolutely tasty synth, amazing drums, and uplifting chords. Complete with a killer bass solo.

    Steam Next Fest Gems Thread

This Next Fest is the best I've seen yet! List any cool game demos or trailers here.

    My standouts:

Berserk Boy - Mega-Man trope game that looks to have great platforming and run + gun gameplay and pixel art. Death of the Reprobate - Midieval art collage point and click game. Bride Into the Cave - Horror puzzle game about a minority girl in ancient China trying to save herself, and a myth about an cave that houses a deity who names a girl and her soul disappears from the the mortal realm. The trailer music was incredible and the art was also stunning. Hauntii - Monochromatic (or sometimes a few shades of the same color) game in which you play a ghost and you possess various objects and animals to make progress. Casual / Adventure Chasing the Unseen - Shadow of the colossus type game where you climb impossibly massive animals like snakes and Octopi in a surreal world. Ultros - Psychedelic Metroidvania with an unbelievable 2d art style where you "wake up stranded on The Sarcophagus, a Cosmic uterus holding an ancient demonic being.
