  • Godot now crashes once I open another scene dock

I didn't make any changes in the project settings or something, but I did change some GDScript. After I did that, every time I open a different scene in the scene dock the Engine crashes. This right here is the backtrace: ================================================================ handle_crash: Program crashed with signal 11 Engine version: Godot Engine v4.2.2.stable.official (15073afe3856abd2aa1622492fe50026c7d63dc1) Dumping the backtrace. So these crashes don't occur because of the dev builds.

How do you hold your haj?

Dear Blåhaj community! I have an important question to ask! Mr. Haj and I have been struggling with our in-bed relationship recently. He wants to be held and I want to hold him, but I don't want him to feel squished or stomped upon my me. I want him to feel as good as he can, while also feeling my love. I am very self-conscious about my disgusting masculine body-oils and I don't want them to get on my pretty haj. Also I don't want to lay my head on him, because that might hurt him. He might say that it doesn't, but I think he just says that to make me feel better (he's really sweet). After a while of trying to hold him in a way which can make both of us happy, I tend to get sore after about five minutes, after which I have to put him on the side... But he's lonely over there! What if he thinks I don't like him because I'm putting him on the side? I want him to feel the best he can, but I feel like my presence in the bed is bad for him in most ways. He has to endure my stink, my disgusting body-oils and my rants about the world. I feel like I'm dragging him down and I am willing to change myself to make him feel better.

What do you think I can or should do?

    Weird limitations with Expressions

I have tried myself at using Expressions for quickly throwing together some simple functionality right in the editor, without opening the script editor. I just export an array of Strings. But apparently assignment is not allowed in these expressions! Method calls are fine, but assignment doesn't seem to be okay. Here is what this looks like:

    !

The method calls actually work perfectly fine here, but the assignments (with = in the line) do not seem to work. It seems to complain about there missing another = even though it is already there. Does someone have an idea on why this might happen?

Running a string as a script?

Is there any way to run a given string at runtime? I have tried to write something like this by creating a new node and attaching a new script to it, and I have gotten this far: var new_node:Node = Node.new() add_child(new_node) var new_script:GDScript = GDScript.new() new_script.source_code = "extends Node\nfunc run():\n\t" + script_to_execute print(new_script.source_code) new_node.set_script(new_script) pressed.connect(new_node.call.bind("run")) This gets an error (but not a crash) when hitting that last line:

emit_signalp: Error calling from signal 'pressed' to callable: 'Node::call': Method not found.

This is pretty weird, as a Node should always have access to the method "call". Does someone have an idea on how to solve this / their own idea on how to implement runtime code editing and executing?

You probably use an iphone too, don't you?

Screenshot of the Windows™ lock screen which coincidentally roughly resembles the shape of the boykisser. A crude drawing of the boykisser is drawn ontop, to emphasize the similarity. Text on the top says "You list using proprietary software, don't you? You are a Gates-Kisser"

It crinkled in his hand as he held it up to you."

I have searched for the specific barbie movie I had in mind and I can't seem to find it. I just remember that barbie was like exploring some castle like thing because she was sent there alone. She walked around and then in one big room, the floor opened up and had a circular magical hole in it, which led to a different world where the grass was minty green and I love that sort of stuff

How would one support innovation in socialism?

I am genuinely interested how such a thing would be done. I understand that it wouldn't be as hard as with communism, but I can't think of any way to encourage companies to make better (genuinely better) products. I remember how my mother told me how in her days (she lived in the DDR) there wasn't really any reason to be better than another company, as they would all be payed equally.

    Any cozy game recommendations?

Hii cuties! I am currently going through quite the amount of evil disgusting and bad dysphoria, so I would really like to distract myself from myself right now... Even though I am not a fan of consumerism, this is the one time I feel it is appropriate to consume some media. I do have a homebrewed switch and a computer running Debian (with wine, so it can run windows games). I am a fan of rhythm games and cozy games like stardew valley (not a shooter kind of person).

EDIT: I am also a huge fan of games like outer wilds, cuz like wow that game is good. Also I like the magical parts of Terraria aaaaand floating islands are cool... Also I do have a VR headset. There, my infodump is completed now.

    dinner with blåhaj ✨♥️🌸

I love being home alone cuz then I can do stuff like this. Dressing up how I want, saying what I want, no limit on self-talking, no limit on when I can go where, it's awesome. Unfortunately this image was taken about 8 months ago, and I've not had any free days since then... Love my haj! Yes I also love mozerella and tomato on toast, it's real good.

Fellow C and Rust programmers, how do you live without classes?

I lived in a perfect OOP bubble for my entire life. Everything was peaceful and it worked perfectly. When I wanted to move that player, I do player.move(10.0, 0.0); When I want to collect a coin, I go GameMan -> collect_coin(); And when I really need a global method, so be it. I love my C++, I love my python and yes, I also love my GDScript (Godot Game Engine). They all work with classes and objects and it all works perfectly for me.

But oh no! I wanted to learn Rust recently and I really liked how values are non-mutable by defualt and such, but it doesn't have classes!? What's going on? How do you even move a player? Do you just HAVE to have a global method for everything? like move_player(); rotate_player(); player_collect_coin(); But no! Even worse! How do you even know which player is meant? Do you just HAVE to pass the player (which is a struct probably) like this? move(player); rotate(player); collect_coin(player, coin); I do not want to live in a world where everything has to be global! I want my data to be organized and to be able to call my methods WHERE I need them, not where they just lie there, waiting to be used in the global scope.

So please, dear C, Rust and... other non OOP language users! Tell me, what makes you stay with these languages? And what is that coding style even called? Is that the "pure functional style" I heard about some time?

Also what text editor do you use (non judgemental)? Vim user here

HRT Question: Will the checkups be scary? (in Germany)

Hi! I am currently looking into getting HRT for my transition, and I think that I might have some real problems with the checkups. I have a crazy fear of needles, so when I heard that one can get the hormones using anything but needles (gels, patches, pills, probably some other methods too), I was incredibly happy. I was like -YES thank you scientists that I don't need to become unconcious while getting my HRT!-. But then I started researching some of what happens when you take those drugs, and I found out about checkups. Now, see, that. THAT! Is very very very scary. I do not have porblems with body checkups, no problem with any sort of that, but NEEDLES!? NOOO! I can not do needles, no, never in my life. When I got circumsized (for medial reasons, not religious) even after taking some -calming down pills- I was still shaking while getting my injections. After about one minute of the injection, my body starts piercing everywhere and I usually completely use my sight and my ability to hear. Also crazy amounts of nausea and stress come up a lot. By now, just thinking about em makes me start to breath heavily (I am breathing like that right now, shoot dang).

So yeeah how necessary would it be to maybe get my blood checked out or something like that? I really really do not want to be subjected to T anymore but also, oof, needles are also kina a death sentence in my head.

    Issue with Valve Index

I got myself a valve index, as I've heard that it works well on GNU/Linux (I use Debain 12 with GNOME). Turns out, there were a bunch of hurtles. At first, my cable was just broken, so I needed to get that relaced. Later on when I got the cable, Everything worked fine, but nothinig is being displayed in the headset. The screen is just off and the frightening red lights on the front are lit. Every time I run steamVR, it doesn't give me any errors, but after about 20 seconds of waiting, these two LEDs turn from blue to red. The eye adjustment slider and even the tracking works perfeclty, as I can see the rendered image in the "VR view":

    !

I also get this warning in the console before the lights turn red:

(vrwebhelper:3686): dbind-WARNING **: 15:09:07.618: Couldn't connect to accessibility bus: Failed to connect to socket /run/user/1000/at-spi/bus_1: No such file or directory

The lights turn blue again when restarting SteamVR. Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

I also get this error sometimes, even though the display is very much plugged in:

    !

In case it matters, here is the entire console output up from running steamVR:
