In December, Israeli ground troops entered a Gaza apartment building filled with innocent people. Survivors told Al Jazeera that the soldiers left a “bloodbath” in their wake.
Working with journalists in Gaza, Al Jazeera English investigated a number of Israeli military attacks as part of The Night Won’t End, a documentary we reported and produced for the show Fault Lines and which was released last Friday. While we reported on incidents ranging from a massive air strike to attacks on safe zones to the killing of 6-year-old Hind Rajab, we also sought to focus on an issue that has received more limited media coverage: allegations of arbitrary executions of civilians by Israeli ground forces.
This is the story of one of those alleged incidents. We verified the details of the attack using the testimony of six survivors, satellite imagery, phone messages, and video footage.
When Mujahid Abadi stepped outside to see if Israeli forces had entered his neighborhood, he was shot in the arm and the foot, and that was only the start of his ordeal.
After a couple of hours, Israeli soldiers found him. He says they struck his head and face and in the areas where he had been shot. Then they dragged him by his legs, lifted him by his hands and feet and threw him onto the hood of the military jeep.
“I screamed because of the heat,” he said. “Then, one of the soldiers started cursing at me and told me to be quiet.”
The military said its forces had tied Abadi to the hood of the jeep to transport him to paramedics.
But Nebal Farsakh, a spokesperson for the Palestinian Red Crescent rescue service, said the army had sealed off the area and prevented paramedics from tending to the wounded for at least an hour.
In dashboard camera footage obtained by the AP, the jeep to which Abadi was tied drove past at least two ambulances. Abadi said he was lashed to the jeep for about half an hour before soldiers untied him and released him to paramedics.

The issue will be if these temps become standard and consistent over a wider time period. For one, that could adversely affect crop growth and development.

The issue is that we already know he's full in on Israel. Not as a political thing, but because he truly does see Israelis as superior to Palestinians. He fully believes that Israel is allowed to do whatever it wants without repercussion.

"We spent about eight or nine hours at military checkpoints. In the end, our truck, despite all the approvals, was denied access and returned ... Yes, we will try again. Obviously, we'll try again. But this is consistent with the denials that we and many other agencies have experienced," Elder said.
Israel has previously said that it allows hundreds of trucks carrying aid to enter Gaza daily, and the Israeli government has blamed the U.N. for failing to distribute it.
Sounds like we can't trust the IDF's numbers on aid trucks being let in if they're counting ones they initially let in and then forced to leave at a later checkpoint.
The spokesperson for the U.N. children's agency told CBS News the Palestinian men were fishing in knee-deep water when Israeli forces opened fire.
Two men fishing in the waters off the coast of the Gaza Strip were killed Wednesday by Israeli troops firing at them with automatic weapons, James Elder, the global spokesperson for the United Nations' children's agency UNICEF, told CBS News.
Elder said he was in a truck attempting to deliver food and medical supplies for 10,000 children in northern Gaza when his team was stopped at an Israeli checkpoint. From his position, he said he could see about 10 men fishing with a single net in knee-deep water.
"I was standing outside the vehicle and suddenly saw a tank coming and then firing, and saw those two men seek to run from their fishing spot and then hit the sand," Elder said.
Elder said he heard the sound of an automatic weapon coming from near the tank before the men fell. He said his group eventually made contact with the military and that some of the fishermen who fled the shooting were able to return to the beach to retrieve the bodies of those who were killed.

Seems like it. They just started bombing another designated safe zone, Al-Mawasi, a couple of hours ago.
So, does that mean that AI photos have merit when they win photo competitions, as has happened in the past? Seems like the point he was trying to make would go both ways.
Disqualification seems appropriate. If it is against the rules to use AI photos in a normal photo category and the winner gets disqualified for that, which has happened, and it is against the rules to use a non-AI photo in this category, then the person should similarly be disqualified.
Not sure if the person behind this actually made the point they thought they were? Because it just shows that being consistent in rules and disqualification is good and the contest was consistent.
Unfortunately, true. There's a number of terrible pseudoscience pushers out there. But that's exactly why we need actual pro-science people in political office. We need more scientists in general who actually understand the fields in question, rather than just lawyers who frequently ignore what their scientific advisors are saying.
And quite possibly killed three more hostages in the action. Hamas is claiming it and the IDF is denying it. But considering that the four hostages saved were being held in the same place as one of the higher ups, if the IDF has just been bombing every other family home of Hamas members (remember the Where's Daddy AI system?), then it seems quite likely they could kill hostages in the process.
Israel’s military struck what it says was a Hamas position inside a U.N.-run school in northern Gaza.
Israel’s military said Friday an additional eight militants were among those killed in a strike on a U.N.-run school in central Gaza, raising the number of alleged militants to 17.
The army released the names of the militants it said were killed in Thursday’s strike. However, only nine of those names matched with records of the dead from the hospital morgue.
One of the names Israel listed as a militant was an 8-year-old boy, Shaheen Mahmoud Ibrahim Abu Sharif, according to the hospital records. Two boys on the morgue’s list, age 10 and 14, had names that suggested they were sons of a man Israel identified as a slain militant, although he was not listed among the hospital’s dead.
The AP could not independently confirm whether any names on the Israeli list were militants.
