Just a picture of Sting
  • Somewhere Tony Schiavone got the urge to yell "It's Sting!"

  • GeForce RTX 4070 is the most popular Ada GPU, and there are more Steam Decks than any RDNA card
  • A fraction? The Switch is the third best selling console of all time, behind only the PS2 and the DS

  • Rules are rules
  • AMD bought ATI a while ago. The ATI brand hasn't existed for about as long but AMD kept branding their GPUs with Radeon

  • Whats your favorite Main Menu music?
  • Dearly Beloved and the variations on it are the best. I'm partial to the version for Kingdom Hearts 2 but they're all great

  • Automakers must build cheaper, smaller EVs to spur adoption, report says
  • Sorry, best we can do is massive, expensive pseudo-luxury SUVs

  • Christopher Nolan Says Buy ‘Oppenheimer’ on Blu-ray ‘So No Evil Streaming Service Can Come Steal It From You’: ‘We Put a Lot of Care’ Into Home Release
  • Genuinely, the bitrate for streaming is much, much lower than physical media. DVDs average about 6 Mbps, HD Blu-rays average roughly 30 Mbps, and 4K Blu-rays average around 100 Mbps. From everything I've seen Netflix doesn't really go higher than 20 Mbps even at 4K. Color banding and blocking is going to generally be the most visible issue with Netflix and other streaming services

  • I personally prefer Newsflash because the main dev of Fluent is weirdly adamant about not implementing either customizable shortcuts or the standard vim-style navigation that almost all desktop RSS readers have had since Google Reader included them

  • I can barely tell the difference between 60 and 165 hz on my monitor
  • Is it possible that there are ghosting issues with the panel? I had a 120hz monitor at work at one point that had ghosting issues so bad it made it look barely any better than a 60hz panel. Going from 60hz to 120hz+ should definitely be noticeable to most people

  • I used to use Inter Semibold as my main UI font but recently moved over to SF Pro Text Semibold. I've been consistently using the Nerd Fonts version of Fira Code for terminal/IDE

  • Tumblr is reportedly on life support as its latest owner reassigns staff
  • I really hope this isn't a sign of things to come with other Automattic companies. I'd hate to see Pocket Casts go away.

  • One thing the fandoms can agree on.
  • I'd be happy if Rian Johnson got another chance with Star Wars. Brick, Brothers Bloom, Looper, and Knives Out were all great and at least personally The Last Jedi felt like it was trying to set up things to pay off in the next movie since he was originally slated to write and direct Episode 8 and 9.

  • Hollywood’s Dual Strike Is Over, and the Studios Lost
  • Kbin just pushed out an update that shows where else in the fediverse the linked page was posted. I don't know if there's anything similar on Lemmy.

  • Homer has stopped strangling Bart in The Simpsons and it’s about time
  • Just from memory there's one of the most highly regarded golden era episodes, Homer at the Bat which heavily features MLB players from the time and makes jokes assuming knowledge of the league. You Only Move Twice has the joke about the Denver Broncos. The entire characters of Drederick Tatum and Lucius Sweet are based on Mike Tyson and Don King respectively.

  • Homer has stopped strangling Bart in The Simpsons and it’s about time
  • The Simpsons has done a ton of sports jokes in the past, that's definitely not unique to recent Simpsons.
