'Alyonushka' by Viktor Vasnetsov (1881)
  • Viktor Vasnetsov (1848-1926) specialized in mythological and historical subjects. He was a co-founder of Russian romantic nationalistic and folklorist painting.

If anyone's curious here's a link to this Fairy tale

I was confused at the lesson/moral, but apparently it's about being a good person and believing that good things will happen eventually.

  • The kids are alright.
  • I never lived in USA and it feels weird for me to joke around other country's tragic event.

That being said, (dark) comedy is a common way of facing tragedy and I also can see why many USA citizens are desensitized on this event. For what I can grasp the reaction was so overly exaggerated that people have had enough.

Don't get me wrong: it was a tragedy, but it's silly to expect everyone to feel personally affected to THAT level even after decades (and most without even knowing one of the victims).

I'm pretty sure that even in that year many citizens might have moved on kinda soon and didn't care THAT much, but would keep quiet to avoid drama. At some point the edgy comedians made people realize not caring THAT much was pretty common and even the kids started openly joking about it.

  • Smdh at double standards
  • I know this sounds like the background of a dystopian sci-fi, but following that logic: why not eventually replace politicians with AI?

The biggest problem I see is the possibility of an enemy hacking the system, but we can create many measurements to deal with that. Also... Lobbying+corruption+etc already exists.

We can still have some human interference, like plebiscite or something similar. Opinions/criticism to propositions/laws could still be allowed.

The priorities on the AI logic would be: respecting human rights, guaranteeing basic needs, avoiding conflict (but being able to defend the country), protecting the environment, and then just using the most efficient way to minimize crime rate, burocracy, car traffic, etc...
