Staying away from Chome (even for work) I haven't had the chance to try it out yet, I'm hoping it's going to be approved to Firefox's add-ons so I can see how it is!
Oh that's so kind of you to say! I have to say, I've been pretty down about it all, but writing this up made me so very happy. I really love Lemmy for how easy it is to share these long-form posts :)
Pippistrello and the cursed yo-yo
Sounds wonderful, I'm looking this up now! It sure sounds weird, but the longer the gaming industry runs and ruins great things, these odd little different ones just make me happy!
I was excited for the Space Marine remaster, but...I only played perhaps 1 hour or so...it's super disappointing, but that's on me for getting excited before it came out (again).
Firebreak is 100% my next 'big' excitement, I'm so ready to play it!!! I'm right there with you with the Remedyverse!!!
I don't think I can choose. I use both, and am good friends with the devs of both options!!!
I use Heroic for my desktop PC, the ease of having Epic, GOG and Heroic on Linux is unbeatable to me. I do also have it on my Steam Deck
Junk-Store is (at the moment, however the upcoming release will change formats) a plugin via Decky Loader, and looks almost as if it is a native extension of the Steam Deck. The UI/UX feels stock, and that is so nice to see. And it is dead easy to use. It's so nice to be able to add and play Epic & GOG games to your Steam library and play them.
Junk-Store has Epic for free, and GOG is a once-off payment for the plug-in.
Heroic's support of Epic, GOG and Amazon are all free.
Its a choice, I swear by these two options and wouldn't even bother with any other. Try both, and see which one feels best to you!
And FFS don't send me weird rage-filled basement-dweller DM's on all my platforms demanding to know why I'm friendly to Epic. The last time I posted something with Epic news in it, some of you really took it badly.
Thank you so much! Its getting to be a passion - organizing, tweaking the settings, applying the texture packs...and then having retro achievements with them? Perfect fun to me! And Clone Wars sounds fun, too!
007 Nightfire is a great rec, since spy themed games are still so hard to find. I'll be onto this one next I think!
Games like Midnight Club and Sonic are better with the PC versions, I think. Easier to tweak with the highest possible graphics and shaders, etc.
Nice to see so much care and effort being put in here, Dremor!
I love the thought, and it makes me feel super happy to see this place getting some more focus. Having well and truly burned my bridges (and enjoyed watching the napalm) on my 'regular' social media, having this place as my focus on long-form posts just makes me happy. Makes me even more so to see making this place even better is your plan!
I'm happy to raise my hand to moderate, if you still need extra help. I'd guess not since Lemmy's workload on a modqueue is a small one. But do feel free to reach out to me via DM if you'd like suggestions/recommendations! Having moderated on Reddit (from giant 10m+ subs to the tiny community-focused ones) I've got plenty of ideas to encourage more community involvement?!
They write a great deal, show how the game feels, express how they've enjoyed the games and if they'd recommend them. I consider these posts one of the more valuable we have here in this community. It's not just a link and a one-liner, they're writing and sharing their experiences and creativity. Formatted and so well made.
Its insane to me that you'd think this is shit. What would you prefer be posted here?
Check Etsy in your area (find someone who has a lot of reviews, and guarantees their soldering work - kamikaze method is the one you want for the OLED), or even nearby. Some are happy with mail-in services.
Facebook Marketplace. I know, its fb...but there are reputable people who do the work, depending on where you are
Phone repair shops! Sounds odd, but 9/10 will know exactly how to do the work, since micro-soldering is their bread and butter. Show them a guide, and they'll do the work. My friend (one of the devs of Decky Loader) did this last week - took his to a phone repair shop and all is fine :)
And thanks for letting me have a space where I can share these long-form posts. They make me happy to write them, and each week its a relief to see them welcomed here :)
