  • I hope you’re hair with yourself, it’s well after midnight over here, and I’m now properly awake again, bouncing around in bed like a tit. I’m far too old for this kind of nonsense, I have things to do in the morning, and I’m blatantly going to put this on in the car and drive like a bellend all morning too.

  • Old trees are a good thing, but according to the ancient woodland preservation course I went on, breaks in the canopy, complex understory, and fallen timber are equally important - those are the things that dramatically increase biodiversity. Woodlands shouldn’t be easily walkable, with deadwood cleared away.

  • They had me at “Potato”, that’s definitely the magic word to engage my attention -

“The Bullet Journal is like a potato.

It seems boring and bland and easily replaced by flashier starches like couscous and black forbidden rice, but the potato is special not for what it is but it what it can become. Tell couscous to turn into a French fry, and we'll talk. Until then, the potato is king simply because it can be whatever you want it to be. “

  • Yeah, that’s a low blow. Not a Walkman, not just a portable Cd player, a bloody mp3 cd with a remote on the headphones from 2002. Who are you calling old, eh? Kids these days have no respect

  • Yeah, I can see the whole “bed not being the safe retreat from the horrors of the waking world” thing being traumatic, I reckon I’d probably just burn the whole lot and start again

  • No mention of the bastard Horse Fly that chewed me up while I was strimming yesterday. I reckon the only ones I like less than the Horse Fly are the flea and the tick, and the last only because they’re disease-ridden little nightmares. That said, I’ve never been bitten by a bedbug or stung by a scorpion, so they may well be bastards too
