Thanks, Gnome are a proper gem, their own very specific kind of weird. Check out the video to Wenceslas for some fantastic dancing.
I’d not found the doom metal community, so thanks. That’s right up my street, finding Pelican, Baroness and Elder in the first few posts makes me think there’ll be plenty to get my teeth into in there.
That’s a bit more on the death side of things than my tastes usually run, but it’s got some good grooves to it, and the video is mint.
I’ve been really getting back into music videos recently, Gnome’s Golden Fool and The Ogre videos are brilliant, and Psychedelic Porn Crumpets’ March on Pax Romana is phenomenal (none of them are thrash though). I’m of the MTV generation, and I’d not realised how much I missed good videos until recently
No no, Miata is always the answer. Clearly, Miata is in that case answering the question “how do I look like a bellend without spending too much money, and clearly communicate that while I understand mechanics, I probably shouldn’t”.
Make the feet “ribs” protrude into the box, with a 45° rebated channel cut into each side that the side pieces slot into maybe? Have the foot detail just extend under the base to support it.
That’s a lot of glue area even if the sides and base are thin, and you’d only lose a small part of the volume to the part protruding into the internal volume
A Fuji X-T5, with 16mm f1.4, 35mm f1.4, and 90mm f2 lenses. I’m sure there are technically better cameras and lenses out there, but it’s fun to use, and takes magic pictures without any real need to edit them. I’ve got a small photo printer, so it works very much like a film camera in the process - shoot, print, look at a physical photo, almost no screen involved
A decent camera, and yeah. I’ve had a fairly good camera for a while, but getting one that takes the photos I see has been a game changer - previously I always felt they needed editing, and I never really had the inclination to learn that very well. Now they mostly look like what I want straight out of camera, so I’m printing them more often, and enjoying the whole process a lot more
It might just be a marker of middle age setting in, but I’ve been loving this avenue of proper old-school thrash on here recently. The early Metallica albums had a profound effect on my formative mind, and the fast riffs in this very much push that button
It’s only a matter of time before our communications are disrupted be the shadow fleet of Panamanian-flagged Russian canal boats dragging anchor up the Kennet and Avon
Yeah, I drive an old Ford Ranger/Mazda bt50, and I parked next to one of the new ones the other day. The thing is massive, took up the whole parking space it was in so cars next to it couldn’t open their doors, and had the bed way up in the air so loading it would be a pain in the ass. Same size bed but less carrying weight because it’s so big, same tow capacity, very similar size inside, just pointlessly massive outside. All the aggressive styling makes you look like you’ve got a micropenis to compensate for, and it’s much less useful for its intended purpose.
I live in the middle of nowhere, so a pickup is pretty essential, but anyone who owns one of these in a town needs a crew-cab van realistically, pickups are hopeless in urban areas
Thank you, but no
