As if I needed more reasons not to like Nintendo.

Truly turned into the bad guys they had to fight against in their early days in the video game industry over frivolous lawsuits.

I’ve met a few other 90+ people and they seem the same way.

I’ve been trying to reverse my negative outlook on life, especially since I’m largely blessed compared to much of the world despite the few issues I encounter. Even if it doesn’t affect the age, who wants to live so many decades being absolutely miserable?

One of the notable people I’ve met who was 92 was telling us about her time as a nurse in WWII and she said she stopped drinking at age 23 and never had another alcoholic beverage.

It better for that outrageous price they want for these things

I liked playing in VR from time to time. Why remove it? I don’t get that. I can understand not including new features for it, but why remove it from the game?

I was thinking of this recently after having dealt with rodents on my yard. But it’s illegal in my area to own one and that’s probably for the best. I hear them at night outside sometimes but I have never seen one. I think I saw one flying during the day because the wingspan was huge and there was absolutely no sound as it went from one tree to another. All I saw was this thing with huge whitish gray wings open them wide and silently fly from one tree to another as I got near and called out to our dogs. I think we frightened it and it was trying to stay away out of sight during the day time hours.

Absolutely amazing, majestic creatures.

This doesn’t mean anything. Something only has as much value as the customer is willing to pay. People don’t want to pay more than $60 for most new games being released today and companies need to accept that.

Fuck what it cost years ago.

Same goes for everything else. You could make the same argument for cars and trucks which are now reaching $50k USD for base features. Still doesn’t matter. Still overpriced.

Let’s talk about what we’ve lost too. Games used to come as a complete edition. Now you get the game and it’s unplayable on the first day without an update and even then still has features broke, waiting for an update weeks or months later. Not to mention DLC.

Lenovo has one that comes to mind. I’ve seen this one at Best Buy that’s a Chromebook and may be a good candidate for Linux upgrade with a detachable keyboard that is very much like the Surface’s. It’s the Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5. Here’s a screenshot

Decent specs but not the best and okay price, especially compared to the Windows prices.

I’m not too familiar with how compatible this is with Linux, but I have installed Linux on other Chromebooks in the past and ChromeOS is a Linux distro of sorts, so it should work. One reason I’m more into Chromebooks for Linux candidates is that they have USB type C charging standard and they are typically cheaper as brand new machines. The only thing I hate is that they don’t have a caps lock key but that weird search key in place of it.

But might be something to check out.

I’ve been growing mine out longest ever had it over the last 3 months. Shits looking super scraggly now lol I’ve been using this shampoo I got for free off Amazon that supposedly helps hair growth. Hasn’t worked well on my balding spot on my head, but seems to be working wonders on my beard.

I feel bittersweet about y’all opening us up to more instances because of that 😂 I have found a lot of new interesting communities, but the redundancy got a lot worse, for sure.

In my optimism, I tell myself that maybe these communities aren’t federated to each other so the creators didn’t know of another instance’s community with the exact same name and/or content.

I’m on here to see some funny memes and interact with people on topics I’m interested in. But someone is alwayssssss shoving politics somewhere. I’ve had to block asklemmy even though I enjoyed some posts because I’m sick of the constant bad faith posts “hey fellow leftists, why are all conservatives evil doo doo heads who hate women? Please circlejerk with me on the 14th post like this on this community today.” Now pics is doing the same…ugh.

My filter is broke because I have a tonnnn of specific words that are not getting blocked. Even basic stuff like Trump/Elon etc. is letting in that stuff still. I don’t care if it’s positive or negative about them. I’m not interested. Sigh….lol

I was just about to rant about this yesterday lol. I have blocked 3 communities named Palestine. I’m just not interested in it. I then see another pop up a day after blocking one. Didn’t I just block you?

And as far as I can tell, they’re all moderated the same. It’s not like someone got pissed that a power obsessed mod made some new arbitrary rules and they went and created a new community with their own set of rules. They all share the same posts. The redundancy is ridiculous.

That man has some nerve. That’s really weird to say to anyone.

I feel like your sister’s reaction is the same as some people’s when finding their spouse cheating with someone else. Who do they get mad at and attack? Not their partner, but the person they are cheating with. It’s illogical and dumb. But they don’t want to be mad at their partner. They want very desperately to believe that it was someone else who forced them to do something horrible.

Not that he was cheating, but this is the next closest thing and your sister feels an emotion similar to that.

Not to excuse her, but I think that’s where she’s coming from. It’s a dumb response and hopefully she realizes it and chastises her husband, not the innocent sister who’s just minding her own business and shared an innocent picture. What did she expect you to do? Just not respond? Would she have been mad at him for starting this conversation?

I’m sorry you had to read this and have her go after you. This is so dumb and I feel for you.

I love the Sims 2 version. That got me into Paramore.

With the current state of Microsoft’s products…that’s not something to brag about.

If they made decent products, this would be interesting.
