Thousands of Canadians are on doctor wait-lists. Are they effective?
  • 90 days? That's so quick. I lived in my current city without a doctor for nearly a decade. Now I have an nurse practitioner and any appointment I want to make with them is always 6 months out.

    This shit isn't good enough.

  • Yea a proper tune would likely help a bunch in both performance and temps.

I'm pretty crap at bios tuning and usually just follow guides. I'll try my hand at it this weekend if it's not busy

  • I upgraded to this chip from a 5600g, there was much more improvement than I was expecting. Nothing life changing but a good boost nonetheless. It smoothed out a lot of frame rate drops in my games and is quite capable for productivity workloads.

Only issue now I gotta watch my heat a little more since I went from a 65w CPU to the 105w CPU built in a fractal node 202. Still running my stock cooler for the 5600g.

  • Best distro for linux gaming?
  • It's not a gaming specific OS, but ive been running Pop!_OS on my main PC for just about 3 years now with mostly successes. Steam runs great with proton and i use bottles for the rest of it (gog, battle.net, uplay, etc)

  • [9]What’s your go to snack when you are baked?
  • My joint walks go right by the gas station. so its either a chocolate bar or a bag of sunchips (french onion or cheddar) If i skip the gas station, i destroy all the leftovers and end up having nothing to bring for lunch tomorrow at work.

  • We Finally Have Proof That the Internet Is Worse
  • Right on, I rejoined IRC during the COVID shutdowns. It's just nice to be chatting somewhere where a company isn't flooding me with advertisements and/or harvesting my data (that I can tell at least).

  • We Finally Have Proof That the Internet Is Worse
  • I hear you. When I was a teen, Internet was: A handful of focused websites or your buddies geocities / angelfire site.
Chatting in crazy chat rooms on IRC, and having your close friends on ICQ.
Using a dial up modem to play doom, Warcraft 2, red alert, duke nukem, quake, StarCraft, total annihilation.. etc.

Those were fun times. Felt like the bleeding edge of tech.. hiding out and having fun in places people haven't even heard of.

  • Intel might have slipped that Windows 12 is indeed coming next year | Company CFO sees benefits of a coming "Windows Refresh"
  • new versions of windows just kind of feel like new phones now. It's good but.. who cares?

I can remember as a teen and upgrading from windows 98 to XP felt like jumping into the future.
Or, more recently, getting the first samsung galaxy after having a basic candybar phone.

Just seems like more of the same all while charging an arm and a leg for it.

  • Why do you use Linux?
  • Mostly smooth. When I jumped onto pop os I think it was the 21.10 version which was good. Only the ng that I never got working was lutris. When 22.04 was released I updated to that and had some weirdness afterwards that I couldn't quite iron out. I ended up doing a fresh install with 22.04 and it's been great since.
