  • WHY ARE PEOPLE ON THIS GODFORSAKEN SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM SO FUCKING INTENT ON USING ENDEARING TERMS AS INSULTS!? FIRST I CATCH SOMEONE CALLING A PEDOPHILE A GREMLIN, NOW I CATCH YOU CALLING TRUMP A "GIRL DICK" LIKES IT'S AN INSULT. YOU WANNA KNOW WHO HAS GIRL COCKS? TRANS WOMEN. FUCKING STOP IT.

Just refer to that thing in the Whitehouse as subhuman trash like the rest of us. Calling that thing a girl cock doesn't do anything except make trans women feel degraded.

  • As someone who has gremlins in her life (and sometimes engages in gremlin activity herself): don't refer to that thing as a gremlin. Gremlin is a playful and endearing term, not something that should be applied to questionably-human pieces of shit.

  • I find King Gizzard's most recent album, Flight b741, extremely relatable. Almost terrifyingly so. Not sure if everyone would relate to it the same way I do, but nearly every song speaks to my experience as someone finally coming out after about a decade of being in the closet.

Realizing that being cis was just a mirage. Finding the place where you truly belong. Experiencing life for the first time as yourself. Wondering how you got this far and how you're still going. Attempting to present yourself to the world and feeling happy yet also having a nagging feeling that everyone just sees you as a pig in mud. Realizing the flight ahead is a long and painful one which may lead to an early death, but you can't imagine going back and as scary as it is, you're not gonna bail out...

I just... Fucking hell. I know it's probably not supposed to be read that way, but it's way too relatable when framed like that.

  • The number one thing I've been missing are Spotify jams. Spotify also has a wider selection of music, but tbh it's rare for Spotify to have something that Qobuz doesn't. Spotify also has lyrics, playlist folders, and audiobooks; though tbh I haven't checked to see if Qobuz has the latter.

  • I love Qobuz. Also for those of you trying to boycott US goods, it's a French company. I just wish it had the same adoption and features as Spotify.

  • When there's a furcon but you have a class on Friday evening.

  • I mean, they could introduce a new character who takes shelter in a mysterious, dilapidated research facility during the 7 hour war and finds themselves in a hellish labyrinth of puzzles. Maybe said character finds Chell in the field and helps release her (there's some speculation Chell never made it out, but was actually in some kind of biosphere based on some in-game hints).

  • Yeah. What the fuck is wrong with the straights? They're so... normal. Why... why? That's so boring. I guess if that's what you're into then cool, but like, keep it to yourself. No one wants to hear about how normal you are, just be colorful in public and you can be normal at home.

  • Holy shit, I was not expecting a jalopnik article to go that hard, nor was I expecting the comments to be so """woke""". I'm gonna need to read jalopnik more often.

  • Nomad Complex is a Canadian company. Furry, but also Canadian. Not sure where they source the clothes before they do the screenprints on them tho.

Source: been disappointed because they (smartly) decided to announce they wouldn't be travelling to any US furcons for the foreseeable future.

  • ...are you literally wanting plain colored t-shirts? I mean, those exist, but... They have other shirts that don't say "Hyena Agenda" on them.

  • Bloodhound probably. They just kinda look like that.

Edit: that said, I don't think I've ever seen a bloodhound that droopy. I hope that's a natural variation in their droopiness and not something people are breeding for.

  • I had a fascination with dreams, especially lucid dreaming, several years ago. I don't have a specific article about it anymore, just some info I came across a while back.

  • You know you don't have to be a furry to buy furry stuff, ye? It's not like anyone's checking for a "furcard" or anything.

Besides: for those of y'all boycotting US goods, Nomad Complex is Canadian. It actually sucks for those of us in the US because afaik, Nomad Complex has stated that they're not attending US furcons anymore. They've apparently had issues with immigration and customs prior to Trump, and they've decided (and for good reason) not to enter the US for the foreseeable future.

  • God, I love this comic. Thank you for A) making me aware that it got a continuation and B) compiling it into an easier-to-read format.

It makes the opossum in me very happy.

  • This is why I love furry stuff. Nomad Complex, Hyena Agenda and Weasel Gear are great. I mean, I guess Nomad Complex and Hyena Agenda could technically be kinda considered branded since Nomad Complex puts their logo on the front of their hoodies and Hyena Agenda has some shirts that incorporate their logo into the design, but the designs are generally really good.

Edit: okay fine, it's one of the reasons why I love furry stuff.

  • My take is that they may be bisexual, but they may not be biromantic. In the sense that they're down to fuck women, but prefer dating men. It's a differentiation you usually only see in the aro/ace/agender community (separating romantic vs sexual attraction), but I've started to wonder how many people have a romantic orientation that doesn't fully match their sexual orientation.

  • Okay, there's actually a speculated reason for this: while you're dreaming, your body is paralyzed but your brain is not. When you go into fight-or-flight when you're dreaming, your brain starts trying to take sensory input from both your dream self and your real self. As a result, your brain is receiving mixed signals: your arm is moving and it's not moving; you're successfully controlling your arm but you can't control your arm. The result is that it feels like it takes a significant amount of effort to move your arm, and your arm moves slowly.

My own personal experience seems to support this: if I casually run or hit something in a dream, then it happens as expected. If I'm in fight-or-flight mode, then my actions occur in slow motion. However, I got lucky and became lucid during one such moment, and decided to try consciously focus on just moving my dream arm, and I was no longer moving in slow motion.
