The German government is also using Matrix for communication in some organizations.
How so?
Cool idea, love more competition in this space!
I was unfortunately disappointed by the first query I did. I searched for "Norway" and did not get any good results. I expected Wikipedia or something similar, but did not get anything good. Maybe I used it wrong?
I have a different experience. I have not blocked anyone or amt instance. I am om lemmy.world, so that might be it?
Yes.
Some people have to use pills their entire lives. I take some for my disability. They make me more patient and less excited/stressed. They also reduce episodes in which I might harm myself or do things I regret. I am not my disease. I am me, and the medicine is like using crutches for my mind.
I can not solve my issues by talking to a therapist, so medicine is a requirement.
I find it kinda idiotic not to accept medicine that will make things better for you. It's irrational. I don't blame you for feeling it this way, I am not sure if this is a gendered issue, but as a man I took it quite hard when I had to start taking meds, it was as if I had a weakness and was less than my peers. "Men are supposed to be stoic and tough" (I have since changed perspective)
Take your meds, no-one will give you a medal or appriciate it if you don't. You are also not weaker if you take them. It just makes life easier, like a good bed or a good home. Is having a good home a weakness? "What? You can't survive on the street? You pussy!" /s
See the irrational way of thinking? Any comfortable choice can be called some form of weakness. So then the queation becomes: Why choose to have difficulty when nobody gains from it?
This one: https://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/standardknot.htm
Interestingly the bunny ears one is considered by the person owning the shoelace site as good if done correctly. Maybe I did something wrong before I learned the standard knot. https://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/twoloopknot.htm
It's worth learning. It is a much better knot. It's not hard to learn. I used bunny ears for 15 years before I learned. Do your knots loosen pretty much everyday? Mine did. With the improved knot it doesn't.
Basically using a cryptowallet as a canary. Cool idea
Not really, I understand the decision.
I support sanctions against Russia, because of their attack on Ukraine. This is one of the consequences of sanctions. Russia can get rid of them if they want, but they are choosing to live with the sanctions and continuing the war.
Sanctions are NON-VIOLENT means of punishing unwanted behaviour. It is not fair for the innocent bystanders in a country being sanctioned, but it is the only non-violent tool we have to deal with military aggression.
There are no alternatives to it besides military intervention, unless we want Russia to crush and destroy the society and civilians of an independent country.
Nothing justifies this war. We can either stand by and watch the injustice or we can do something.
I am no fan of USA, but they are right in sanctioning Russia. Yes they have done a lot of shitty stuff, but that does not mean they are not doing the right thing here. Europe is also right in sanctioning Russia.
And it does not matter if Linux had to implement these sanctions or not, they should be there and everywhere. The sanctions has to be painful to work.
We can say that we don't want politics in FOSS, but that's not possible. Not wanting something to be political is often a political statement itself. Not sanctioning Russia when given the choice is ultimately a political choice in support of this war. Even though it might not matter much in all cases.
Professional help moght be as simple as antidepressantants. They are cheap and they do help a lot. I have been taking it for about a year and it does help a lot. Currently on a decent dosage of venlafaxine.
Seriously, they don't do much the first couple of weeks, but after that they do help a lot.
I am not sure if this is true, maybe I am misunderstanding something. I use GrapheneOS and can use all banking services in Norway just fine. GrapheneOS does have a translation layer or something like that for Google Play Services, is that what you are thinking of?
Can you elaborate a bit on the google and apple servers for authentication? My impression was that this system uses its own platform.
Does it work well from a user experience standpoint? I am considering switching from my current provider to KeePass XC. Usability is important, I also need to share some passwords with my SO. She is good with technology and computers, but not a dev.
Everyone in Norway has one, well like 99,99% or something. It is a requirement for banking.
It is used for all banking services in Norway. When you get your own bank account at 13 or something you also get BankID.
You are correct, but i'd like to expand a bit on how it could be solved.
It requires that all major social networks use BankID for all traffic from Norway.
Bypassing it would require a VPN, which is a simple hurdle.
But the major win here is that parents will enforce this. Parents can point to this law and say that they have to be old enough. As long as enough parents enforce this law and the VPN requirement is there, then it will probably be effective enough
Not saying you might be right, but this could be solved with a simple API that returns yes/no for the age check, without providing additional information.

Yes, but shes gorgeous without it as well. She wears little make up, except for some stuff around the eyes. I really like her eyes, and the makeup does make them even prettier.
And it can be sorted alphabetically in all software. That's a pretty big advantage when handling files on a computer
I somewhat disagree, 5€ is too low to get a decent wine imo. Buy a wine for 10-15€ and there is no longer any difference from the 500€ one.
The last point however is the key, and I agree wholeheartedly. If you can find one for 5€ then that is good enough
Thank you, this is really toxic
I want to learn Rust. There are so many resources available and I am unsure which one to go for, and if there are any tips on getting started?
I am a software developer by trade
Edit: Thanks for all the great replies!
