How would you force a studio to use such a service? You enter a contract willingly and so you use the service of firms like sweet baby willingly. You are not forced to agree to the terms of funding.
I did not follow sweet baby Inc. in the end I really don‘t see why people get so worked up about them. They provide a service and if you do not like the projects they worked on, then just don‘t buy them.
But there is apparently a steam page that lists every game they worked on.
The woke / gender / diversity crowd is every ngo , government agency or government project around the world that gave you some sort of funding for incorporating some of their their ideals or following certain guidelines. Basically how a company like sweet baby inc. got a lot of their work. The services of a company like this were often required for that sort of funding.
That crowd was a vital part of game development for a while since they offered really good funding and didn‘t ask for too much. That’s why certain things like selecting pronouns is now common in gaming, they literally paid for it. The beauty of it was that it was very low risk money.
In the end it was easy to get money so a lot of developer went for it, as they should.
How do you get that money? Same as every other funding, you have to apply for it. But today you more or less need to pitch an idea that more closely aligns with their ideals.
I really don’t get what this journalist is trying to say. What is described here has little to do with epic and gamepass. The music momentarily stopped. There is no free cash anymore, not even from the gender crowd. That is the reason there are so many layoffs. You can be happy if you are not working in gaming atm.
They way this piece is written makes you think the journalist believes epic and MS will give you x amount of their own money if you sign a deal. That is total nonsense, they obviously want to push their platform but they run into the same problem every publisher runs into. They are no longer able to refinance this projects consistently.
For the people who think Paleworld devs and other would be sad about being on gamepass. That is mostly false. Most devs are happy to get this deals because it takes a huge burden of them. Getting the money to even start or finish their project. Making a game is risky and difficult. Even a really good product does not guarantee good sales numbers or any attention from the masses. Gamepass gives you some form of stability which ,especially for small studios, is really important and very difficult to archive.
I delete every comment after some time same as on other fedi services. It is no longer relevant after a set period so why keep it? If you keep the data, potential tracking is the only usecase after a while.
It is about security for them. One of the big problems of sideloading are the idiot users. Apple has a good name for iOS security because it is a walled garden. Everyone expects shit on android but never does on iOS, which is due to good marketing on apples side and the walled garden. Now your idiot user installs an app from weoffervirusesandcryptominers.com and like always it will be apples fault that something went wrong. Customers are idiots and for a company that sellers perceived security and lifestyle products free reign for idiots is a serious business risk.
Funny the service in the worst state yet and they start serving ads. Even on their newest hardware this service is horrible. It takes ages to switch to UHD. There is a bug where a show will stop buffering and then the show will jump a few minutes forward. Crashing lagging, not being able to select always play in og language and set a subtitles to one language…
I think you do not understand the use case for streaming tbh.
The target audience are people who get asked to play a certain game out of the blue or just want to try it out.
If your friend asks you to play Fortnite out of the blue you can say „yes let‘s go“ and not yeah sure in a bit after I finished the 60+ GB download to play one round.
In my case all I wanted was to log in and go to the locker on PS so the skin gets unlocked. Who in his right mind would download 60+ GB for that. We‘re looking at less then 1 minute playtime.

For the thermal pads and paste. This is not a hardcore fix, but if I have no experience, I would not do that if there is no further evidence that the problem is actually the thermal paste / pad.
For soldering you can look at any electronics soldering video. It is more complicated to find the break then to actually fix it in most cases (if it is fixable in the first place).

That just makes taking a guess easier. Thermal throttling because of broken soldering, dry thermal paste and clogged fans would still show up after roughly 2 hours of play at the latest. You need to be playing a graphic intense game so that the machine has to work.

Ray tracing would be a weird choice since the game uses baked lighting almost perfectly. You wouldn‘t even see much of a positive difference.
I guess the tech updates will be rather minor and only really noticeable if you play it side by side. The original still looks good the new version will look a bit better…

Thanks but the windbreaker, the suit and the shotgun skins are deluxe edition items. Preorder items are the cardigan and the revolver skin for Alan.
That is normally true and seems to be true for the standard edition but not the deluxe edition. Even the people who confirmed they got the items said on deluxe there is no extra dlc listed. Sony support, if available, does not give you an answer, epic doesn‘t either and remedy doesn‘t even have a support system.
But of course there are very few people with working items contributing to the discussion so this could be inaccurate. The whole thing is pretty pathetic for the first console digital only AAA launch.
Capcom got this sorted ASAP after the Resi 4 launch but Remedy just says nmp.

It just seems super confusing on PS if Reddit is anything to go by. The standard edition seems to get them per dlc, but the deluxe edition does not it is somewhat weird.
Some people said they just found the items in the intro…
It just would be cool to know how it works like if you got the preorder content you can just equip the stuff under cosmetics in the main menu as soon as you boot up the game, same as with the deluxe items. Or you have to play and find that stuff. So you think the stuff is most likely missing and it sours the experience before you even start.

Unclear at the moment, there are so many requirements it is hard to keep track especially with the legal situation in the UK.
They basically demolished some mandatory EU laws like equal pay. But then again there is no protection in the UK system and you can just change every single law with a simple majority vote.
Some of the new trade deals could hinder them, since you can not bring all goods into the single market.
