Ottawa senior says he was denied a car rental because he was 'too old'
  • I faced this from most of the large Canadian rental agencies when I was in that age bracket back in the 2000s - I only found one at the time that would rent to me, and they required the credit card of someone over the age of 25 (which they didn't tell me until I actually showed up to pick up the vehicle). Things may have changed in the last decade or so but this isn't something new for Canada.

  • What do blind people see?
  • Huh?? Do I see differently than everyone else? I can definitely still see my one closed eye's darkness. It's like a 98% transparent overlay on my open eye's vision that's a slightly different colour.

  • Disapproval of Elon Musk is top reason Tesla owners are selling, survey says
  • I got one this year and really love it - the drive is quite peppy, range is much better than advertised, and it's a comfortable car. There are a few minor downsides, such as I've encountered a few glitches along the way (occasionally the driver side mirror won't go back to the normal position automatically after backing up), but these seem to be pretty minimal and are getting fixed with software updates.

  • Looking for games with strong female leads for my daughter (even just to watch as I play). Came across this link, but they're a bit age-inappropriate. Any suggestions from the community?
  • I was coming here to say the same thing - it's a fun sidescroller and I don't recall anything too scary other than a chase scene (which isn't gory at all). The educational bits are videos of the group's elders telling their traditional stories and way of life which she might still find interesting.

    Local news links

So with the approval of the Online News Act, Google and other content aggregators have decided to block links to Canadian news sources. I know that's my main way I get local news, so I thought I would start a thread here with local news links. Feel free to reply with any others you know about that I haven't included.
