Some Republican-led states refuse to let Justice Department monitors into polling places
  • Federal law is supposed to supersede state law. Although States are supposed to be free to run their elections how they choose.

This makes the whole situation a gray area that the DOJ hasn’t seemed to feel the need to clarify.

  • As a bike rider, I forget this is a thing. Asked my neighbor, he pays $350/month in insurance alone 🙃
  • That makes a lot more sense! Tbh I’m not surprised people are paying that much considering how used cars have been extra expensive the past few years. Couple that with high interest rates and you get large payments. Some people have 10% interest or more, guaranteed.

  • I totally follow you there. I don’t disagree with you.

All I am relying on is my personal experience with Big Macs, which used to be a lot.

These new ones are not as thick as they used to be. Different beef cooks differently, different fat percentages for example.

Also, I guarantee all those frozen patties do not weigh the same. Even if they can convince regulators that they average out to the advertised weight.

  • FCC Republican opposes regulation of data caps with analogy to coffee refills
  • A lot of plans do. Especially with the major telecom networks like ATT and Verizon.

Recently had a smaller company come in and install fiber. $85/mo for Gigabit service with no data cap. That’s pretty good compared to what I was paying. ATT only offered 500Mb/s and that was over $110 a month with a data cap, I want to say 800GB.

Do not get reliable enough cell coverage for one of those mobile routers. But they aren’t any cheaper here since those are owned by the major telecoms.

  • Tokyo Metro raises $2.3 billion in Japan's biggest IPO in 6 years
  • Does this mean what I think it means? Tokyo metro was 100% owned by government (Central, Tokyo) but they are now selling half their shares to privatize the business?

In America this usually means nothing but rapid enshittification of the product to maintain growing profits. The main metro system of the most populous city in the world?

    Good luck residents of Tokyo.

  • What's the most peculiar car accident you've ever seen?
  • Riding passenger down the freeway and an SUV swerving through traffic clipped a nearby sedan right in the rear corner. Think PIT maneuver but the sedan ended up vertical spinning on its trunk/boot like a top for at least 3 rotations.

  • Patient gamer philosophy
  • Great point. Completely agree this applies to any niche games or even any niche market as a whole.

My personal connection and the reason I posed this is me considering whether or not to pay full price for the fate/stay remaster as well as the tsukihime release.

  • Patient gamer philosophy
  • That’s a great point and I never looked at it as a dichotomy.

However, bugs aren’t something I typically run into due to the nature of the simplicity of VNs. It’s more of a question of do I give max support to my favorite developers or spread the support around in hopes of finding new projects from different developers besides my favorite.

The way you laid it out though helps me ask the question of which of those two is more important to me.

    Asking the real questions!

  • Patient gamer philosophy

So I have a philosophical gaming question for you.

Visual novels are admittedly pretty niche in the gaming market as a whole.

If they don’t sell well enough sequels don’t happen.

So, as a patient gamer, do I pay full price for these games to support further development even though that means buying less games.

Or do I wait till they go for deep discount like I have been and have therefore been able to spread my limited support around more.

If my end goal is making sure these games keep being made as much as possible, what’s my best option?

I am all for the patient gaming mentality and typically wait until games are 50%+ off before I think of purchasing.

Looking for opinions on my best course of action. Thanks!

  • We now have 3D printed euthanasia pods for people that elect to do so. First successful case was very recent. I don’t feel that adding some restraints would be a major hurdle.

If the death penalty unfortunately sticks around, this seems like a humane, cheap way to do so.
