Liberty University sued by former IT staffer fired after disclosing she's a transgender woman
  • I mean I don't wanna play "Blame the victim", but, come the fuck on...

You can't say you don't want to do something then proceed to do it. I mean, you can but obviously if you didn't want to play the card you could have chosen not to play it.

That's coming from someone that commits the same sin at times but I'm trying hard to curb that.

If you're going to say you don't want to do something just don't do it.

Also, our civil liberties should be protected everywhere, the institution is in the wrong here. Just because someone has a particular gender identity should not matter.

  • Who is this for?
  • Idk I think because of how much force needs to be contained by the restraint it is rigid for a reason. My guess is there is an engineering reason based on physics.

Also you don't want people to be falling asleep while driving (anymore than already happens) so maybe that's a factor too? Like it's not meant to be a pillow lol

  • Who is this for?
  • True some can't adjust the angle, but obviously none of them protrude the ridiculous amount shown in the post.

I'm not sure how this isn't a joke, clearly it's a riff on how headrests can be weirdly uncomfortable at times. Anyways, if you're chilling with your head against that the whole time you're driving you're not doing it right.

  • Who is this for?
  • Agree.

Also people seem to think the head rests are there for you to constantly be resting your head on but they are head restraints.. They're there so you don't break your neck if you get in an accident - not to be comfy on a long drive.

  • I can imagine the "will you be using the mobile app?" question to get cheaper food is going to devolve into the Mark of the Beast and someday no one will be able to buy anything without using the apps
  • If you're cool with McDonald's knowing your location (or at least an approximation of it, not sure how much data gets passed through) keep it turned on.

The app has geofencing tech so when you get close enough to the restaurant they'll start making it. I've had mine ready when I get there most of the time. Of course that depends on how busy they are but just fyi

  • Whales
  • Isn't that literally everyone who owns digital games? All your shit on Steam is a license to use the software, you don't actually own any of those games.

I mean, I get the point, cosmetics and such and anything virtual is not tangible in the real world but let's not pretend we aren't all doing that with every game we spend money on.

Having said that, the amount of money companies charge for some of this stuff is outrageous. Luckily, nobody is pointing a gun to your head forcing you to buy it!

  • Anon gives up dating apps
  • I think the problem most people have is that they expect things to happen instantaneously

In my experience it's oftentimes men that are looking to date women way more attractive than them. Like some fat slob incel that refuses to date or bang a chubby chick and then gets mad they're not picking up women that are hot AF and upset "nobody will date [them]."

It's stupid, I know a guy on discord just like that. Unattractive fat guy and when I mentioned I think the biggest thing to coupling is being realistic and dating people about the same attractive level ... Dude balked at that. Was like "what about a guy that has a great personality," the man is delusional. No job, on food stamps and just getting by, living in a one bedroom (maybe studio?) apt, slobby and fat then hits the surprise Pikachu face that women don't want to date him. Not to mention his social skills. Talk about a total lack of self awareness.

Sure maybe if you were extremely rich a woman might overlook your physical appearance but let's be realistic here.

That to me is the problem most people have but I agree with the instantaneous thing too - it takes time to get in the groove so to speak. I've seen it go both ways gender wise just picking on my fellow dudes here.

  • How dare you...
  • Cool so I assume you're voting for Harris then? She obviously is the candidate who would cause less harm to the people of Gaza and Palestinians in general.

So it'd be pretty dumb to say something like that and then not try to do what you can as an individual to help (by voting for Harris).

  • Unfit
  • I think it's more along the lines of you're being disingenuous with the lens you're applying. Sure, the current admin, and future Harris if elected, can certainly be criticized on foreign policy around Israel and Gaza. The flip side is the context that Trump would be so much worse and doing the same shit except even worse. Harris openly discusses a two state solution.

The point is, the two presidential candidates do differ and you're implying they don't. Regardless of your political bent, I'm pretty far on the left side, you have to admit in reality we have a two party system and one is better for the future of the people of Gaza.

Hence, we should all vote accordingly. I think mostly it's that you're implying we shouldn't vote Harris when the alternative is worse.

  • Himbo Rule
  • What movie did you watch? That's a terrible take on it. I'm not sure how you could even think that's the message. That's like literally the opposite of the movie's message.

  • My wacky indie game has reached 6000 wishlists, I made this meme to explain how it feels
  • I'm not down voting you and I applaud chasing your dreams, but a well paying, stable, fully remote job is not something to give up lightly.

Maybe that's why people are down voting you? Not that they should but people be people.

Personally, I'm just some schlub on the internet, but I'd strongly advise you to reconsider leaving that kind of financial stability. At the very least you'll need a pretty good amount of money saved up to live off of. Most indie games aren't successful, most indie game companies fail. There's a gigantic risk for you and a huge lost opportunity cost (your income & benefits, particularly benefits like health insurance if you're in the USA) just to get started and on top of that you have to make something people want to buy.

Not doubting your talents but people would kill to be in your spot (remote, well paid, full time) - I'd think long and hard about the risk you're accepting.

I do, however, wish you well and hope you succeed beyond your wildest expectations! Just something to chew on.

  • The hierarchy of credentials
  • I can appreciate that, I just simp for the admech. They do follow a religious order that's seeped into everything but just because they're theatrical doesn't mean they're ignorant of how things are working. It just means they fix stuff with style!

On the other hand there definitely is the tech that is unknown and they have a hard time reproducing really good lost tech from the ancient times. Ok maybe they just have a bachelor's! 😅

  • Everything is so expensive
  • No ... I think they mean obviously the bourgeoisie 1% making all the real money while the rest of us fight over the scraps.

You're being weird calling this Nazi shit. It just isn't.
