It is a concept that supposedly is needed in order for us to succeed. As a concept, it is used to bury the fact that many of our “successful” citizens (read rich) actually inherited their monies or “knew someone”. It is also used to explain poverty…. That is, if you are not successful, it is your own fault because you did not work hard enough.

Not convinced you are right about the con’s supporting gov’t funded health care. When they are in power, they inch toward privatization. The only thing stopping them is the belief that they would never get in power if they made major disruptions to,the health care system. ALWAYS pushing for lower taxes (and they always do) is a major indication of where they stand on any social democratic issue.

I am not an economist. So this is my humble opinion. We chose to live in a capitalist system. Inflation, amongst other issues, is a problem with this system. We fail to vote for politicians who will regulate this system. It seems to me it is the voters who chose the system, it’s regulation and the politicians and policies that influence the system.

Good grief! I do not like waiting in lines either. But to say an employee who serves the public should not speak to that public is pretty absurd. And yes, there are fast and slow checkers, just like there is variation in us all.
