  • Idk, my only experience with python is that any app written in it doesn't fucking work, throwing some esoteric error that has nothing to do with the error at hand and then me needing to look up what unholy specific version I need and manually setting up an environment for it. I dread the day when I'll want to try some random project and yet again the only way to run it will be some shady ass python script.

JS is pure crack and has no right being the backbone of the web, but python is borderline unusable in my experience.

  • Considering there's no fully legal and definitely no moral way to get that kind of money, they should all be behinds bars. As for kids that inherit such wealth, shame on them for accepting blood money and doing literally nothing with it, besides make the world around them even worse.

  • Americans can turn anything into a controversy, well anything except a convicted rapist vocally announcing his plans to start mass killing civilians using the army.

Honestly, I don't care anymore. Next week nobody will remember, and they'll find another random thing to yell about.

  • There wasn't really a good way to secure things back there. At least not something small and squishy like a grocery bag. Besides, the bed is so high up and huge, it's awkward putting anything up there anyways. The one time we actually hauled something, a Gokart, it was a massive pain getting that thing up there. It's too high for a ramp so better get to lifting.

Just for fun I've quickly looked online, and there actually exist accessories that make the bed smaller with little boxes for such things. Just buy a roof and it's almost as convenient as a regular car xD

My favorite is this one tho, someone had enough brains to develop an actual trunk (if a bit awkward to reach and a bit small) but understood the need for a much larger bed for the fragile ego xD

  • The Americans I visited live in Indiana. Tho it's less about them actually buying a lot (about a week's worth), but rather that when talking about cars and how ridiculously huge their's is, they always say that they need it for hauling and groceries. Meanwhile the rest of the world doesn't experience this problem.

And on top of that you can't put anything into the trunk (or bed I suppose...) and the back seats are just barely spacious enough to fit a rifle case. So if you have around 6-8 bags of stuff, you're gonna put some into the passenger seat. It's especially funny, because even my mom's tiny 3rd gen Clio fits more inside. Picking me up from the airport with barely space for my luggage was another fun one. But they insist on buying these expensive awkward vehicles.

  • It's one thing to have different opinions and another to have a partner that believes a convicted rapist with an unimaginable amount of blood on his hands should lead the fucking army to start mass murdering civilians he doesn't like. The guy is cartoon levels of evil, it's fucking ridiculous.

  • Thanks for not providing even a single example... I tried looking around and only found relatively niche use cases, like them being more reliable and resistant (while also being lighter) for extreme environments or infrequent use, for example emergency equipment. And then some people choosing em because they don't feel like investing more into it, when they have only a couple devices that drain the batteries slowly, let's say a clock that lasts a year. That could be easily fixed if you could exchange empty batteries for full ones like with gass tanks and similar, and the prior examples aren't a good enough reason to have such batteries in the convenience store.

  • Honestly, the only shocking part is that people are shocked. It's not like Elon wasn't quite open about the piece of shit he is. I'll never understand why people choose to cherry pick the good stuff people in power say. I mean you don't even have to catch him at a bad time, the guy is a walking wreck, the only success he has is when he hops on a successful ship before he fucking sinks it. So in a way I'm glad he joined Trump, hopefully he can work his magic and bring his shit down too.

  • Lol, such weak minded pussies, let me explain. For reference, that number is very roughly half of all atoms on earth. If you had that kind of money in cash, it would be larger than earth, it would be heavier than the sun and fucking obliterate our solar system. It's absolute lunacy, so they could have gone further and got more out of it. Like asking for a googol dollars (a 1 with a hundred zeros), not only is it actually funny (a play on Google's name), but that would finally be enough to nuke the entire observable universe. But no, turns out fascists aren't creative and their statements are just the result of rabies.

  • Omfg I get it now... "All life is sacred" as in all life must feel the fearful embrace of God.

I was gonna put a "/s" at the end, but I'm honestly not too sure anymore... Seems like that's exactly what they want. Like what's the point if not the cruelty?

  • Honestly don't feel like a slight reduction on a month long battery life is of much concern. As for waste, I'd say being able to replace a dead battery should reduce waste if anything, also nobody said it must be a AA (on a side note, you seem to imply the use of non-rechargeable AA, which holy shit, if they're still a thing, must be purged, sweet jesus...who's dumb enough to waste money on em???). Personally, I'd much prefer having a second battery charging separately somewhere, ready to swap, as opposed to being forced to stop using my computer. Or like the Nintendo Switch I mentioned before, have some spot I can put it away for charing, that way the mouse is also cleaned up and not fucking dangling and wobbling around freely on the table.

  • I don't understand what was wrong with the original version that just took 2 AA batteries. Reaching for the AA charger and swapping cells not awkward enough or something?

Smart and elegant design would be hiding a battery charger in the iMac it self (maybe even use something smaller than AA), not expect you to flip and plug in your mouse every time ya leave it. The Nintendo Switch, while a completely different form factor, is a great example of an elegant (you could even say "wireless") charging solution.

I'm getting really sick of the Apple esthetic of sticking out wires, be it the mouse or the dozen dongles for every portable device they now make. Uh! Can't forget the world's only pen that needs charging, for seemingly no reason.

  • Recently had a similar epiphany. That despite being led to belive that communism and fascism are totally different, they strangely stink very similarly. It's authoritarian oppression, but with a different theme. The differences are marginal in any big picture scope, like how you'd treat such an entity (ignoring any previous or other relations).

  • Dating is a complete shit show. People that say to just work on your self are only telling half the story. Of course it's important to be open and actively willing to improve, but it's equally as important to identify the kind of people in your life. Legit, the only reason I'm not a complete fucking incel today is because I was lucky enough to have a friend to connected me with someone I wouldn't have ever met otherwise.

I was convinced that all my self-improvement was pointless as I kept getting shoved away as a monster for simply being a man and getting cucked by literal rapists. Felt like what I believed in must have been fundamentally flawed somehow, that I was just broken. Turns out I was just used to attracting shit people.

  • Right, my daily reminder that the US doesn't belive in human rights. Article 23 of the UN human rights declaration for anyone curious. This is also a fun, yet basic resource: https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/countries-with-independent-national-human-rights-institution?time=latest

It's sad that the west still glorifies this fucking homunculus that not only doesn't try to adhere to any agreed principals and values, but actively goes against them. The republicans are against half the things written in there, while the dems "compromise" so hard that "barely making it" is the ultimate unachievable goal in the distance to aim towards. Fucking pathetic.

  • I knew and even tried it before, but I completely forgot it existed because it sucked so much. Nobody can see you moving your hands and tilting your head, which kills all the fun of a VR multi-player game IMO. It's just a glorified controller binding for VR headsets. Considering all the other wacky things they added, I don't see why they didn't add actual VR support.
