"So, you're a philosopher?"
"Yes. I think very deeplydeeply deeply"
So, the owner of this specific store posted it. As much as I hate how Loblaws has been capitalizing on peoples’ needs, this isn’t Loblaws, it’s the owner of one store.
Do you know that for sure? I found this from seven months ago, if it's the same manager, he seems to be getting away with it:

Pharmacy Assistant vs Volunteer
I've applied to about 15 SDM branches across Toronto for the past month until today. My applications were mixed. Even if I applied online, I also visit the branch to personally drop my resume. There was this one branch who told me that it's nearly impossible to get inside SDM as a pharmacy assistant without Canadian pharmacy experience. I was a licensed pharmacist in my home country and I practiced clinical pharmacy for over 2 years.
According to him, the best way to get in the system and their records will be as a volunteer. He was kinda of disappointed with how the system works, claiming that SDM encourages volunteerism to save a lot on training costs. Is it true that being a volunteer will help me out once there is a vacancy or an opening for a pharmacy assistant slot? Can I use it on my future applications as well?
Please tell me this is a joke.

Maybe add something to the title saying [text in body] and a quick explanation under the text in the body to try to mitigate the freaking out.
Or maybe just screenshots are better, I dunno.
They breed multiple times a year and are protected. They take over city parks and make them big piles of goose shit. They get angry and aggressive at people who walk by, making them even more of a nuisance in said parks.
But yeah, I appreciate them as a living being.
God damn Canada Geese.
Also, I've seen tourists fascinated by seagulls in Vancouver which surprised me because I thought they were everywhere.
I was one of the fascinated tourists taking a million pictures of bin chickens. But, I was at least aware of it... because I remember at the time joking with my wife that the locals were laughing at us basically taking pictures of pigeons/seagulls.
What do you type? All I see is *******

Maybe there happen to be a bunch of pro-israel liberals on Reddit, but I don't think that means "liberal"="pro-israel".
I guess coming from Canada it's a different perspective since we have the separate Liberal and Conservative parties skewing the definition, and the Liberals, while certainly being pro-capitalism, also support social justice, and are not exactly pro-israel right now.
Yeah, fair. I think that's why I found associating liberalism with being pro-israel weird.
Wait, you're saying "liberal"="pro-israel"? Isn't that more of a republican/conservative thing?
I didn't say I confused it with something else. I didn't imply anyone would confuse it with something else. Congratulations to everyone who already knew what it was.
Fuck this article for never saying what AOSP stands for.

Every item they steal as a knockoff to generously offer us suckers as “value” takes money away from food suppliers, who then have less leverage to negotiate.
Which knockoffs are you talking about? (I'm not challenging you, I'm genuinely interested.)
I've been a regular No Name at No Frills shopper (and store brand shopper in general) for a long time, especially for staples like flour, because I hate how much the name brands charge for basicly the same thing. I used to get my produce at a local shop but it's gone now :(
Don't squirt me bro!

Original Title: Winnipeg business owner says overflowing bin that led to overcharge staged by garbage company
A Winnipeg business owner is fuming after being overcharged by a private garbage operation for something he says he didn’t do. Brad Wallin, president of Wallin Industries, a local metal fabrication business, told 680 CJOB’s 'The Start' that a recent bill for garbage pickup from Waste Management of Canada Corporation was a whopping six times higher than usual.
The company issued Wallin Industries an additional overage charge for what the company said was an overflowing bin, but Wallin alleged it was deliberately staged by the Waste Management employee — and Wallin said he has video evidence. Global News has obtained the security footage, which Wallin said shows the Waste Management driver altering the appearance of the bin for photo “proof” that it was overfilled.
“It shows the driver pulling up, he gets out of the truck, he unlocks the bin, he reaches into the dumpster, starts pulling out a little bit of cardboard, hangs it over the edges,” Wallin said.
Wallin said he contacted the company to complain, but was given the runaround until finally hearing from an executive at Waste Management’s Toronto headquarters. “In my eyes, it’s just not acceptable," Wallin said.
One of the biggest pressures on young people right now is housing, and this is true for Canadians right across the country. We’ve already taken bold action to build more homes, faster, improve access to housing, and make homes more affordable – and we know there is more to be done.
I feel like I haven't seen anyone talking about this press release here and I'm curious about what people think.
- "$15 billion top-up to the Apartment Construction Loan Program to build a minimum of 30,000 new apartments." Edit to add: "With this top-up, the program’s financing is on track to build over 131,000 new apartments within the next decade."
- "new reforms to the Apartment Construction Loan Program to increase access to the program and make it easier for builders to build"
- "Launching Canada Builds – partnering with provinces and territories to build more rental housing across the country"
- "Yesterday, we announced a new $6 billion Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund and a $400 million top-up to the Housing Accelerator Fund to ensure communities have the infrastructure they need to grow and build more homes"
Is this more lip service or are these genuinely working in the right direction to increase housing?

I'm enjoying exploring Lemmy with Voyager. I really like the design and its very stable.
The one issue I'm running into with it is not knowing where links will take me. At times, clicking on YouTube links is just a waste of time for me, for example. Or if it's a New York Times, etc. link, I know to just go to the comments and look for the archive link instead.
Would it be possible to get the domain of the links in Compact view to be shown? Personally, I'd be willing to sacrifice space (increase the size of the compact tiles) for this, but i don't think that will be necessary. My personal preference would be to have it in the same colour as the poster's server.
Microsoft is seeing AI traction, but that momentum could be priced into the stock already.

Can we get an option to change the behaviour of the Android Back button when using the in-app browser?
My preference would be that it would act like a browser back button and take me back a page if I've browsed beyond the initial page I went into the browser for. The in-app back button at the top left would still always take me back to the post or post list like it currently does. Additionally, I'd prefer that the Android never brought me out of the browser, even if I was on the initial page, but some people might not like that.
Or... Having a dedicated browser toolbar with back, forward, refresh and the url would be ínteresting.
Thanks for the awesome app!
