Yeah, that's not going to happen when he's the only comprimise candidate that could beat the treasonous cheeto. I'm not happy but I've consigned myself to never getting the candidate I want. So I look at as harm reduction. Is he great? No. Is he going to sell international secrets stored in a bathroom? Probably not.
It's a good point. I guess I fall for the fallacy that if Dems do a novel thing in government, it'll now be used by republicans because I assume they aren't looking for loopholes like this. I need to remember that just because they don't agree with me doesn't mean they aren't intelligent.
Why does the media laud things like this? "Yay, our system is so broken that executive powers used in a objectively good way are good, right?"
I understand the urge to want to thumb noses at the people slowing down helping others but what happens when they lose to the republicans? Now they know they can do this too. It just normalizes turning the governor into a King.
