I love FFXIV, but honestly, if I didn't knew beforehand that Shadowbringers will be a peak story, I might have dropped the game in the swamp that is the ARR-Patch-Story. It was Heavensward that hooked me though.
It's still installed but it's kind of difficult to use if no one I know is even willing to try.
I tried switching to Signal a couple years ago but I had to return to WhatsApp since literally no one of my friends and acquaintances did the jump. It wasn't even considered an option by many. So it was either returning to Whatsapp or being cut off from everyone.
If people were a bit more open-minded Signal could be a good alternative. But alas...
I hope at least AskReddit stays far, far away. I don't need dozens of "Sexers of Lemmy, what is the sexiest sex you've ever sexed" shit every day here.
It's usually the penultimate boss which does this - with the final boss being much easier for some reason.
Too many people are just so basic they won't even consider trying anything but "mainstream". If Lemmy or Mastodon became mainstream platforms, you can bet they would come in masses because "there's where everyone's at."
