Microsoft says Russian operatives are ramping up attacks on Harris campaign with fake videos
  • It sucks how easily fake videos and articles simply become the new talking points and common “knowledge” of republicans. Not that democrats are immune to misinformation, but it is so easily spread on the right.

  • Exploding pagers belonging to Hezbollah kill 8 and injure more than 2,700 in Lebanon
  • I don’t think a pager battery alone would be likely to cause a deadly explosion.

  • Remember: GNU/Linux and other UNIX systems can make files that are case-sensitive, Windows can't make files that are case-sensitive
  • What a tragedy. Giving files slightly different names seems far more organized and logical than having several files with the same name and different capitalization. Really seems like a non-issue to me.

EDIT: I will never simp for Windows or Microsoft, I definitely think Linux is better in many ways. But my point still stands about this specific topic.

  • Kremlin accuses the West of helping Ukraine attack Russia
  • They’re only attacking Russia in the interest of defending their country. Russia could easily make this all stop.

  • Ukraine can fire our weapons during attack inside Russia, says Canada
  • If I say you can “have” “my” possessions, they were mine, but become yours. In this case, they apparently said “use” instead of “have”, but a lot of weapons and munitions are destroyed upon use, and those that aren’t are still being used in a war where it is very likely that they could be destroyed/lost/stolen anyway.

Tl;dr, no, they do not expect these weapons to be returned. They were “theirs”, and now they are Ukraine’s.

  • That is actually a good question. Smoothly ignoring age or being polite?
  • I’m frustrated with my inability to embed an image. Maybe it’s just the app I’m viewing it in. But here is what you asked for.

  • Darkness reigns over Wikipedia as official dark mode comes to pass
  • I’m confused about what you’re referring to. I’m reading this as people being able to pay for dark mode which somehow allows them to remove content? Maybe this is because I just woke up but I’m curious what you mean.

  • It's probably for the best though.
  • I’d imagine they just try not to be as public about it nowadays.

  • Look what I got to spend my birthday money on!
  • Happy birthday. I appreciate how much you contribute to Lemmy.

  • What games did you have a good time with that you just never finished?
  • Morrowind. I loved exploring the world, hoarding stuff, and leveling up, but towards the final boss area I just kind of fell off and played other games. I don’t even remember why, it has been a few years now. Definitely put like 2-3 hundred hours into it. Also used several gorgeous graphical mods which made exploring the world even better.

  • Easier said than done in most cases. Serious mental problems should not be simplified like this. They are complex. A list like this makes them seem trivial and easy to overcome.

That being said, some of these are helpful tools for said problems. The issue with this post is that it boils these issues down to simple problems with simple fixes.
