  • Arch linux. Minimal install, hyprland. $ROOTSYS* set to ro, ~/.cache and ~/Downloads to tmpfs. alsa, bemenu, wine-staging, lutris. Couldn't be happier.

  • tl;dr: Windows poser roleplaying as a Linux tryhard tries to convince a new Linux user

  • Even a smol potato like the Orange pi zero 3 (which -still- has zero linux support) can run Linux, so don't worry about it.

  • Pretty sure that'd rip your microsd in half really quick.

  • Just tell em, "What if I told you theres an OS with no annoying ads popping on your screen 24/7?" -- "Yeah? Is that a modified Wi--" -- "Nope. Linux". And bam. :^)

  • Looks promising. Then again, isn't Bananapi known for having terrible support and not being able to deliver proper official images?

  • I like my rpi, but using it with a water cooling kit that big is a bit too much. It's like buying a ferrari engine and then using it on my 20 year old car.

  • I know that cheating ruins games and all, but straightaway opening a hole on my system because of such isn't the right way to deal with it.

  • Popularity =/= quality tho. See: Windows. :^)

  • Eh.

Alt + F4 to close running commands

Alt + enter for full screen

Alt + (arrow key) to switch between windows

Alt + p to run bemenu

    thats it

  • There are minimum risk that the sbc is damaged (0 risk don’t exists) although.

Let me guess -- those same risks also exists with a (required volts per amps) power supply? Then again, I'm planning to use it on an sbc meant to stay idle 24/7, so I guess I should be fine. Thank you for your input as well.

  • Thats a smart take. "There ain't no better teacher than experience."

  • Somehow unrelated to what this video proposes, Linux has taught and gave me so many possibilities that I would never, ever be able to if I (still) were using Windows to this very day. In other words... thanks to Linux, I can now operate and have fun in a under 3W device.

  • I haven't tried it, but I suppose you'll do just fine with debian sid. i.e edit /etc/apt/sources.list, swap $distro_nickname for sid, sudo apt update, sudo apt full-upgrade.

  • That'd be the same as asking if leaving your house front door open is dangerous -- it depends. If an ill-intended individual sees it open however, s/he won't think twice to trash your home.

  • Indeed! I'm not planning to go back to Winblows unless I'm being paid for it.

  • Self-validation is one hell of a drug. :^)

  • Downloaded the latest Ubuntu Desktop

    Theres your problem.
