The great thing with Lemmy though, is you can leave instances. I could get banned into the 6th dimension and I just have to start a different account on a different instance. Often can find whatever kind of sub I'm looking for on different instances too.

The cost of this will be less users but I mean if you can get a couple hundred, that largely eliminates that issue. Lemmy will keep getting bigger, we'll have to deal with the nutsack mods at some point, but there's no big daddy reddit for them to hide behind here. They are on their own.

It's pretty wack. I'm just hoping Lemmy flares up again, like it's so heartening to see it taking off, but at the same time it's a bit disheartening to see a lot of threads with only like 2-3 comments.

I just have to teach myself to not comment on reddit anymore, or interact with anything there. Eventually hopefully never return.

I think we've all suffered through a mod lecture or two. Nothing I love more than being lectured by people that are just absolute wastes of resources. There are starving children in the world, yet someone insists on keeping the insufferable and miserable mods of our cities subreddit fed and housed.

It's the mods that are killing it. Absolute 1 dimensional neckbeard thinking, and the bots. I mean who the fuck in their right mind volunteers to work for a multi billion dollar tech company, right? Absolute neck beard degenerates, that's who.

Modding probably sucks ass, don't get me wrong, but expel your efforts on modding something like a Lemmy instance, where it's for good and not just efforts that go to buying another yacht for some billionaire laughing all the way to the bank

I just got a three day account ban, for threatening violence, by commenting that I hope someone got charged for running a red light. This is the second time this has happened in two months, all thanks to maniacs on our community subs.

It took me awhile to go back to that shit hole, and I'm getting a good reminder why. I just wish Lemmy would get a bit more active, and I can finally put Reddit to bed.

This actually sounds like vacation to me. I wish someone would banish me to my house, even with the curfew. I could use it as an excuse to get out of, well, everything.

I wish them the best of luck at these prices though. I get that the enthusiasts will clamor for it. There's a couple million people that would buy a half eaten shoe for hundreds of dollars, if only Nintendo stamped their logo on it. Once the dust clears though (and this is a personal opinion and hunch), I bet Joe Public scoffs and it's the WiiU#2.

There's no justice anymore

This has been an issue for 15-20 years at this point. Pretty minor effort, that will net zero long term results. Problems bigger than enforcement, it's time for these politicians to really step up and start figuring out longer term strategies here. Because the zombie apocalypse is at all of our doorsteps at this point.

I mean it's pretty weird that there's just some random husband in these meetings. Do you take your husband and wife to your business meetings? Exactly.

I mean at the end of the day, it's the gamers opening their wallets though, right? That's the biggest behaviour that's leading to this, when the chips fall. It's like when people complain about preordering, well thats got a super simple solution: just don't do it.

I've never bought a lootbox or a gaming pass. That sort of stuff irritates me, like sell me the game or fuck off. I'm ok with a DLC that expands a storyline or a new world or something, that comes a couple years later. I've always viewed that a bit differently, as long as the content of the core game isn't affected. But even when companies are like buy the deluxe tier of our new game that has the Broken Road Protagonist Best DLC ever, releasing June of this year, that pisses me off because it's like you purposely held that back to sell as additional content. I don't tend to buy games that do that, and if I do, I never purchase nor participate in the additional content.

Likely because the vast majority of reddit users in 2025 are bots. It's just a bunch of bots talking to each other, with a few incels sprinkled in here and there.

What I find ironic with the UCP, is how such a supposedly "hands off" government, has to have their greasy little talons sunk into every piece of business, personal matter, law, society, charity, etc. You cannot take a crap in this province, without Danielle Smith and her cronies trying to lobby an opinion, or sink you with a fee.
