How are scammers getting my email address?
  • There is not much else to say. I got a text from "my bank" that a payment was due. They shorthanded the bank name, spoofed the correct area code, and even knew my normal payment date. Nothing is sacred and that's the new reality.

  • Exactly. They fumbled hard. "It has to be your ____, there's no way it turned out that good naturally."

Does me reading yuri hentai doujinshi mean that I support LGBT?
  • Man, it sounds like you're either trolling or flip-flopping to avoid changing your current habits. You'll deflect what I am showing, but not what the commentor before me put. Decent question for Lemmy; I enjoyed answering, troll or not.

Take away what you want from this. I support you reading positive mindset material every day.

  • I mean, you could guess that, or you could google it and find out. #1 ranked yuri series is written and drawn by Nio Nakatani who also makes Touhou Project doujinshi. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nio_Nakatani?origin=serp_auto

Does me reading yuri hentai doujinshi mean that I support LGBT?
  • From a website that specializes in things that impact the LGBT+ community and perceptions.

Yaoi and Yuri manga have had a profound cultural impact, significantly influencing perceptions of LGBTQ+ relationships both within Japan and internationally. These genres offer crucial representation and visibility for same-sex relationships, helping to foster greater understanding and acceptance among readers. By depicting romantic and emotional connections between same-sex characters, Yaoi and Yuri manga challenge traditional gender roles and societal norms, presenting diverse expressions of love and identity.

It definitely supports them, even if indirectly. The more reads online and manga bought, the higher that genre will appear in lists of top media. Therefore, underage kids who lie and say they are 18 are also more likely to be exposed to it. I'd advise you to just change your opinions and enjoy what you like, but this is the internet and I try to stay realistic.

  • if you quit a job you didn't like or was toxic, didn't the financial hit scare you?
  • I tried to have something else lined up each time, but tbh the financial hit from quitting a job where I was overworked was not nearly as bad as how I felt after my job each day. If you have some skills, offer to do oddjobs. Offer to detail friend's cars, mow lawns, and pump up the quantity of applications.

Does me reading yuri hentai doujinshi mean that I support LGBT?
  • TLDR: Yes it does.

Awareness and support normalizes behavior that many believe (me included) should be normalized. You should stop doing something you enjoy because of how it might indirectly support others and because it exposes you to thoughts and ideas that aren't your own.

  • Agree. Not enough info for me to judge. Maybe Lemmings shouldn't make this site into one for snap judgements and witch hints.

  • Completely legal might be a bit of a stretch, but yes, I agree. It feels like most officers have more crazy stuff to handle in a day that they don't want to take the time out of their day for smaller violations in my town. Around here you don't get pulled over for only ten over.

  • Ok, surely we have to be in a media bubble by this point right? I know Lemmy leans left, but still. Where are the articles quoting non-fabricated stuff Democrats have said that makes them look bad? It can't be that I only see atricles quoting Republican politicians because only they say the dumbest, brain-worm hot takes out loud, right?

  • Most gamers prefer single-player games
  • Ohh, that and local proximity chat or server chat is a touchy subject these days. I'd love to see more communication in games. The recent ping systems have been a good start, but having more character eexpression like in Mordhau or Chivalry 2 would be nice. Make your characters say things in R6 Siege would be particularly interesting.

  • Most gamers prefer single-player games
  • That's fair. I love the gunplay of Apex (and can ignore all the battlepass monetization) but I could never just goof around in that game like I could in Halo 3 multiplayer, Planetside2, or TF2. I often ended up back in the queue after matching with people with thousands more hours of expierience. The alternative gamemodes were the most fun because I got to have fun while losing, which is less of the focus in today's shooters due to the super high skill ceilings. Competative games are mostly made with professional teams in mind now. That's what I want a return to and why I like Helldivers 2 so much.

  • Most gamers prefer single-player games
  • Not only that, but the competative multiplayer scene is dominated by games appealing to professional game teams with high skill ceilings. Excuse me game devs; I have 1hr and 12min to play and I'd rather goof around than try to learn map layouts.

Question to those not in the USA, and who have lived outside the USA.

I've been thinking about something and want to check an assumption I have. I only hear directly from other people in the USA, and interract with the global community through memes. How are the gun regulations/laws different from yours in terms of strictness, and do you wish there was more or less where you live?

Not looking for a debate here, discuss cold drinks vs hot drinks instead. Appreciate either answer. ❤️

Edit: Thanks for the answers all. I'm super proud how productive eveyone kept this talk. I figured most of you had very different experiences than I. I'll share my most recent experience. I don't have a firearm, but have considered it after being trained enough. When sharing this with "normal" people around town, I had multiple people offer to sell or gift me a gun where the serial number was scratched off and non-traceable. I ofter heard, "oh man, yeah. You need a gun." I have literally never needed one. The fact that people offer to give me one when I don't have a liscence or training shows the mindset of the minority here and how much of a problem a few individuals can make to safety within the current system.
