What is this pink railroad tie for?
  • Not sure, my experience with this is in Australia, they're all over the rail corridor but not on the sleepers as far as I know. There's usually a specific phone number you call to alert, say emergency x3, your location and the nature of the emergency.

  • What is this pink railroad tie for?
  • Just a stab in the dark but they may occur at regular intervals, and similar notation may be on the poles and other infrastructure. In the event of a rail emergency you give the operator that info and they will halt all trains that could be affected by the emergency

  • A site that shows the video feeds from multiple news channels
  • Try youtube miltiviewer or viewsync. Haven't tried them myself but apparently you can watch multiple youtube videos/streams at once. Probably a limit on how many.

I remember having abc news live on in the background in the first week of covid, I found a 24 hour stream of news means you're getting the news as it breaks but; 1) if there's no breaking news you're just hearing the same news said differently over and over again 2) there's no point hearing breaking news as it breaks because I'll just be trying to go to sleep amped after hearing of the latest bloodshed, and nobody's around who wants to discuss it anyway. 3) just bad for my anxiety, even if there's something that directly affects you, there are also 90 other things that don't affect you that you also can't change. These little things can erode your mindset. I found a text based RSS feed a good alternative

Regardless, a lot of people have family in dangerous places right now and I understand wanting to know whatever you can as soon as possible.
