even on fuckcars people still like cars,... damn
  • You are based and right. If someone needs a car, which might be, the focus should be on changing their situation as fast as possible so they don't need it.

I see very few valid exceptions - transporting infirm, people with disabilities etc. In most of those cases, there should still be a focus on how to minimize or substitute car use as much as possible

  • What are some creative ways for a GM to deal with narrative for when players are not able to attend a session?
  • I tried being creative a lot but I have since found that the lost elegant approach is 'they are here, our camera just doesn't focus on them today. Yes, they are there, on the sideline fighting their own monster. Oh no they are 100% with you, maybe you guys even talk, but that scene just isn't in today's episode'

  • Hasbro May Be Eyeing AI for Dungeons & Dragons
  • I think you are missing the point. My guess is that this will not create story, but they will try to integrate it with their upcoming VTT. Imagine you as the DM describe what you want and the tool prepares everything, with monsters, terrain and the whole lot. I am pretty sure that will be the angle they take.

Of course.. It can only prepare from the database of premium materials you have to painfully buy bit for bit

  • Divinity Original Sins 2: An unbelievably awesome game
  • I played on the switch and that made it take ages. I got until about act 4 or 5, I can't remember, with a kraken? But I noticed a harsh spike in difficulty at that point. Coupled with the very tedious controls on switch that made me stop playing.

Was a great game until that point

  • How do I go about writing aquatic humans as an allegory (or w/e the right word is) for Indigenous people?
  • What aspect of indigenous peoples would you want to represent? Think about that in detail, and think about whether what you want to represent might just be a stereotype.

I can imagine that this can be done tastefully. But it could also turn out really horrible. What specifically do you mean by a sort of metaphor? Do you want to go into some indigenous social constructs and living conditions? If so, WHAT groups specifically?
Do you only want to talk about stolen land and shamans? I would advise against that. The question is more nuanced and you have to be more detailed to get usable answers

  • Crosspost: report on my game: S2

Is this the correct way to crosspost or are theremore elegant ways?

UN says it's forced to cut food aid to millions globally because of a funding crisis
  • 40 billion each year to end global hunger by 2030. Everyone is everyone in the whole world. These figures are from the Un food programme's. Population would not explode, because malthusian economics are for eco fascists. Rich people that have no food insecurity have Less kids, not more. See all of Europe and the US and many other countries as examples. Human population is not the graph about wolves and deer you saw in 10th grade biology.

  • What are your best lateral thinking puzzles?
  • I remember we have one in German, but it's more about language...
you ask a bunch of questions ghat the answer are different colors, and when they are all used to saying colour's, if you ask them what a cow gives, they'll probably say white. Of course, this was in 2nd grade.

  • What kinds of light are you guys using?

I am looking for some clip-on lights. What I have is not satisfying because the lights keep moving during a ride, which seems rather unsafe!

What is your favorite 'rules light' system?

If it's a PbtA please expand on your system of choice!

I'll start: I really enjoyed Sexy Battle Wizards, but I think The Witch is Dead speaks to me more. I like player characters just being little weak dudes and struggling against normal stuff. (both of these are free by grant howitt and 1 page of rules)

I also enjoyed rude detectives, it has a surprisingly juicy dice system for a game that's just 4-5 pages. It's themed around child detective stories.

PbtA I like magpies stuff, like avatar and root, but my favorite until now was Fellowship 2e I think. Just so extremely versatile, and it's a joy to give a lot of narrative control to players.

Last one is kinda cheating: my current favorite game is rules light within it's genre. 13th Age is the easiest 'dnd' I've ever seen, and the amount of dumb rules and bookkeeping it prunes has reinvigorated 20f games for me! But compared to other games, it's still a bunch of rules of course.

I wrote a pre-session 0 campaign outline in the style of Sly Flourish for my upcoming 13th Age game. Critique welcome!

Disclaimer: all of this except the villains part is to be shown to players during session 0. Characters are not yet made.

    Campaign Elevator Pitch

Prevent the awakening of the God of Entropy.

    Six Truths of this Campaign

What are the six most important things you want your players to understand about the world and the campaign? Share these with your players.

    • An evil cult is gaining power, spreading chaos, nihilism, and madness. Beings driven by anger and dissatisfaction join them, often without fully understanding the extent of their intentions. • The fragile balance of the world is threatened. The intricate web of runes, glyphs, and magical barriers that protect the Empire and ensure the safety of the Midland Sea is weakening, allowing monstrous creatures to invade the realm. Many icons are on the brink of conflict, vying for dominance. • Whispered rumor speaks of the emperors wife, Empress Izarra, dabbling in dark magics and secrets beyond mortal purview. Her past is shrouded in mystery, but the loving emperor protects her well. • The discovery of a strange fiery glyph in the night sky, seemingly embedded in the ring that encircles the world, has sparked curiosity and concern. Its purpose is unknown, but its appearance heralds a shift in cosmic forces that could have far reaching consequences. • The fabric of reality is unraveling in many places, revealing hidden and unexplored locations. Ancient civilizations have left traces of their existence, and living dungeons emerge from the depths, devouring and assimilating everything in their path. The world above and beneath the surface is full of wonders and dangers. • The gods are distant and mysterious, their gaze turned away from mortals. No avatars or divine interventions protect the world. Only the Priestess can hear the faint whispers of the gods. Clerics and paladins are confident that they receive their magic from the gods.
