I hate these types of ads too, and they're so common.
Also there are some ads which make the normal 5sec skippable video ads more like 30sec skippable ads. They're usually game ads, where they show you a skippable ad after 5 seconds, then they make you play a mini-game of sorts for 10+ seconds and then it shows you a splash screen with the name of the game which you're only able to skip after 5 seconds. Wastes so much time.
Always a good idea to back up your data before a major update on any device (be it a computer or a phone), and ideally frequently.
New meme just dropped
That just goes to show you the state of the game

32GB!? These things have a lot of storage now.
It was pretty amazing honestly. It was a reason to never install any of those shitty adware disguised as emulators.
Overpopulation.
I use Nova Launcher because I'm used to it and there's really nothing that still can replace it. There are plenty of similar launchers, but none that's as feature rich as Nova. People love to hate it because it has been acquired by an analytics company, but I have data disabled for Nova Launcher, so it can't really do anything. Even on other older phones that don't have the option to disable data for Nova Launcher, it hasn't sent a single KB of data in months. I don't think it's a problem.
Lemmy is far, FAR from a representation of the general public.
ReVanced also has the ability to remove the current BS YouTube video quality selector and restore the old resolution selector.
I've known about NewPipe for a long time but I've never really wanted to use it because of the vast amount of missing features. It might be alright for people who don't use YouTube very often or want to preserve their privacy at all costs but I can't use it.
I also can't stand the official YouTube client, not necessarily because it's so bad, but because ReVanced simply has so much more QoL features that I can't live without now.
I don't know what it is with people making tables out of the most random stuff, and sometimes even selling them
You think that's going to stop them from doing whatever they're doing?
Except only harm people who come from search results to find a lone solution for a problem that's since been deleted.
Reddit has r/technope, which is made for these types of small stuff in software and programs that don't necessarily qualify as software gore. I think it'll not have very much recognition here though (it's already small in Reddit). I don't remove most posts like these even though they aren't necessarily software gore.
Hello there.
A sizeable portion of the community members, from the beginning, have always expressed a disinterest whenever posts related to AI generated content from the likes of ChatGPT or Bing AI are posted here. Therefore, this post is here to let the community members decide whether such AI-related posts (including text, image or video AI) should be prohibited or not. Several low-effort AI posts have been submitted to this community before, but some are also good. The final decision lies with you.
Here's the link: https://strawpoll.com/mpnboQ69Lg5
The poll ends in 3 days or 72 hours from the time of making this post.
This thread doesn't only concern this single decision. I'm also looking for feedback on whether if other things should also be changed in this community. I'd love to hear your thoughts. This is my first experience moderating a community like this, so I may not be the most bright-minded. Make this basically a community feedback thread.
UPDATE: 70% of the community members have voted in favour for the prohibition of AI-related posts. Therefore, posts that contain any AI-related content as the main focus (for example: AI "hallucinations", repeated words or phrases, different than expected responses, etc.) will be removed.
Hello there.
I'm busy with my academics now, so I may not post or comment. I'll still be keeping an eye on my communities though.
