I was planning on getting a new pair tomorrow but I'm going to Italy in a week for vacation. Should I wait to get them there?
Interesting, I never realized it was also that slow to get in for the States. To be fair it's not perfect here, surgery wait times can be really bad. I'm on a year long waitlist for deviated septum surgery and my dad waited quite a long time for a hip replacement and he was in a ton of pain everyday. But the thing is we also have the option to pay to get it done privately.
For sure, it's definitely not perfect here, for example I'm on a year long waitlist for surgery for a deviated septum. But from what I've heard they get you in fast if it's life threatening. I think in my case anaphylaxis can be life threatening so they got me in fast even though I was stable. We also have the option of paying for surgeries privately anyway if we don't want to wait.
I had a medical emergency yesterday that may me realize how lucky I am to live in Canada.
I'm getting weekly immunotherapy allergy shots (which are also covered by the free healthcare here) and I had a bad reaction to a shot. They needed to give me 2 epipens and some ventilator drug and stretchered me in an ambulance to the hospital where I waited about 5-10 min (I was stable at this point) for a private room. They kept me there for like 4 hours with IV drip and prescribed me another EpiPen.
Total cost was 0 with no questions asked. I know for non life threatening injuries like broken bones you might be waiting a few hours to get in, but I'd rather it be like that then have the possibility of going in massive debt.

I bought my model 3 for $50k CAD after incentives and tax which is expensive but not an absurd price, and have had 0 problems with it after 2 years and it's an amazing car. I know about the quality control issues with some cars but the warranty is good. I'm pretty sure the oldest Teslas on the road are 13+ years old so I'm pretty happy I'll get to drive it for so long.
Edit: I found an infinite water hack by holding a tube of Churu, a treat that's like crack for him above the water so he was forced to get water with each lick. I would stop squeezing the tube and he would continue to lick for a few seconds, not realizing he wasn't getting any Churu. After walking away I saw him taking a few licks out of the bowl. So fingers crossed he starts using it himself now.
He's had a plastic water fountain for more than a year that he instantly started drinking from. It's starting to get a bit grimy and the pump is failing so I bought him a new stainless steel one and swapped the old one with it.
He stopped drinking water for a day before I put the old one back. They're both running and now he only uses the old one. Is it safe to just take the old one away again so he'll be forced to use it when he gets thirsty enough? I'm guessing he won't just refuse to drink until he dies?? I'm worried about health problems if he doesn't drink for a day or two. He's 2 years old and otherwise healthy.
I know he's fine with the new water taste because he'll drink it out of a spoon (and he sees where it comes from), and I even put some on the flat side part of the stainless steel fountain and he licked that up. He just won't drink out of the flowing bowl. I also turned the water flow off and put catnip in the water, and he tried to knock it out with his paw but wouldn't directly drink from it.
