Oh yeah the gameplay and the environments made me really want to get into it more than anything else. I just couldn’t figure out why I was doing all this stuff or why I’m supposed to care about some dead character who I never met.

Yeah, I added 2FA. I will try disabling it to see if anything changes.

It’s been a month since I’ve been able to post anything from my lemmy.world account using any app.

Without using any videos, explain to me what this is.

Sony was dumb for buying them when they did. Bungie was already kind of in a downward spiral and giving them all that funding just gave them a much nicer toilet for the flushing.

I bought destiny 2 and a bunch of the DLC last year to see what it was all about and it was just a confusing, miserable mess of an experience from start to finish. Well, assuming it was start to finish. I still don’t know where the start was or what the hell was going on. I felt dumb for buying it.

I just started playing Palworld like 2 weeks ago and I’ve hardly found myself playing much else. A friend and I have a private server going and we’re just exploring, catching mons, tackling towers, and trying to make our base as efficient as possible.

Huh, I looked that up and still messed it up. I’m terrible with European geopolitics…

I would honestly laugh if someone slipped up and called the states Canada. If they called it something like “Trump land”, I might actually get properly annoyed. But there’s no way that would have been a slip up, so I think my reaction would be justified.

It was sincere. I’m American, and the US didn’t officially adopt the “Czechia” name until 2021. The only reason I knew about it was because I noticed the name on Apple Maps (which apparently added it in 2020) and asked a European friend about it. I literally told my mother and sister about it a month ago and they had no idea.

I have no idea why “Czechoslovakia” often remains in the mindshare of Americans but I’d guess it’s to do with WWII in history books, and the fact that Czechia is rarely ever a topic of conversation. "Czechoslovakia” was apparently dropped in the 1940s. Recent enough that people’s grandparents might never have known. Information didn’t flow as fast or freely back then. I was born in the 80s, and I know I had to look up the difference between the Czech Republic and Czechoslovakia at some point.

The announcer guy, I promise it was a slip up and no intent of disrespect. He corrected himself. And in whose interest would it serve to be disrespectful towards Czechia anyway? There’s no incentive, is there?

I’m not blocking ads, I’m just avoiding them.

Why would someone get upset about that? Is it not Czechia now?

The safeguards, for anyone like me who didn’t know about them until now.

Basically, the guidelines include:

1. Ensuring AI systems are safe before public release.
2. Building AI systems to address issues like bias and discrimination.
3. Using AI to enhance security and protect privacy.
4. Sharing best practices across the industry.
5. Increasing transparency and providing clarity about AI's capabilities and limitations.
6. Reporting on the risks and impacts of AI.

Absolutely. I’m not religious, so the hypocrisy stood out to me.

Woah chill dude. I never said you were a bad guy. In fact, I get the frustration. I even agree with it to some extent. I just don’t think a lot of people being temporarily inconvenienced is a justifiable excuse to go throwing people into jail willy nilly. Let professionals figure out what happened, let the judges decide if it was actually a criminal offense or just a fuck up of epic proportions, then let the consequences roll out accordingly.

If people are dying (I’m not sure), then I think we need to be acting in greater earnest.

I’m surprised at how little I am actually interested in the switch 2 but for the prospect of more Metroid prime and Zelda.

How about holding an investigation first? You know, just to see where the wrongdoing happened and who actually perpetrated it. (It just might have been a bitter developer or something.)

Also, if people want to use windows, it’s their choice and their consequences. Government and corporate services might do well to consider Linux, but most people don’t even know what a command line is.
