Beyond enshittification, why does tech oftentimes suck?
  • Tge problem is money. The incentive if to make as much money as they can, not the company. Company loyalty has completely been blown up by companies, so now not even the ceo gives a fuck, he'll be running another company with a 10% raise this time next year.

  • People often point to the terrible things in the world as evidence we're living in "the worst timeline". What examples are there of things that suggest our timeline is actually better than it seems?
  • Hitler learned about Eugenics from America. We were forcibly sterilizing people for being "inferior" which you can imagine who that meant. America built their own concentration camps for Japanese citizens and our forced labor in our current prison system is just tge more pletable version of labor camps.

The American civil war was about slavery, but tge north was not full of abolitionist people like you might assume. Tge rich in the North and South were against ending slavery, but their hands were forced by the larger population. The only reason we have not had nukes go off is only because they are old and not maintained well. We've dropped a few nukes on accident that just didn't go off. At least two of those were over America.

  • Do you think that zombies' inability to run is the deciding factor in making it even conceivable to survive in the post-apocalyptic world?
  • If the zombies die within a few weeks or months than survival with bunkers is possible. If they live forever without food than it depends on what they do eat. If they eat all living things things get hard, if they eat plants than I don't think there is hope.

  • Rule
  • Considering the iceshelf is losing hundreds of billions of tones into the ocean every year I imagine the amount of rootbeer needed to flood England would make the whole world taste like rootbeer. Also possibly make mold the dominant life form on Earth for a long time.

  • Soon™
  • 1 hour is 1 hour no matter where you are... unless you mean 1 hour as the amount of time it takes to orbit the sun divided by 365 and again by 24... for some reason?

  • What do you think the voting age should be?
  • I've wondered this ever since I was in high-school. What is the point of a political system I'm not even allowed to participate in other than cute photo ops? If they wanted people engaged in voting there would be no limit and everyone would be encouraged to vote. As to what age we count the votes? I doubt that any line you drew would ever be the deciding point of an election honestly.

America is in the business of preventing voting though, not encouraging it.

  • What are the scariest games you've played?
  • Your ability to be scared has more to do with your ability to be immersed in the game. Some people need outlast and some people only need minecraft. But also if you play amnesia as it was intended it is very scary. You can also run around a table repeatedly and get a good look at tge monster if you are not in the "horror mood" nothing is scary.
