  • To be fair, as someone said, it’s not EV that will save the environment. They bring their own problems such as rare earth minerals, heavy metals, lithium fires, heavier cars = move road degradation because of weight, more PM2,5 because of the weight on caoutchouc tires, the difficulty to replace parts when broken because of the more locked design and less right to repair friendly and more.

Are they good for the environment? More than a combustion car, probably. Are they the silver bullet solution? Absolutely not. We are in Canada and we have industries, local, that could benefit from investing into public transportation and trains. That’s true Canadian investment to our companies and solutions to the current environmental crisis.

  • Franchises? No. But it could easily raise prices that are already absurdly high and make it more difficult for fans to come and watch. It might not be something for everyone, but a lot of people, myself included, love hockey in Canada and support their local team.

It would suck to make the tickets more expensive and even make things difficult for the finances of a team which would force them to relocate or sell it. Who knows.

I know there are more important things, but I’m just saying how it is seen by people.

  • Haha fair enough. If Batman was saying his opinions on tariffs, I’d be surprised as well ^^

  • Chirping in, it’s probably because you watch the Leafs.

No but for real, I agree. The amount of ads since Covid has increased drastically and it’s so annoying. So many board ads, so many jersey/helmet ads, betting ads are everywhere and it’s just.. urgh. I love the sport, but it’s such an horrible league. I’ve been going more to LHJMQ and it’s more fun (local Québec league).

  • Probably since it’s less than a certain amount of dollars, like under 1000$ or 500$, then it’s not considered significant enough? I don’t know frankly and I doubt the American administration knows either since they change things every other day.

  • Tencent is on a missing to own gaming. I would not be surprised if they end up buying Ubisoft at some point. Urgh. Support indie devs.

  • For sure. I aged with you. It’s a mental illness and it needs to be taken seriously.

  • I listened to it with my dad. Horrible. This guy is mentally ill and doesn’t comprehend what tariffs do. It will crash America’s economy and squeeze even harder the middle class there. Unless that’s what he wants..

  • Urgh this sucks so much how capitalism is just making everything more « efficient » aka maximizing profits.

  • It’s PP’s election to lose. He has lost a LOT of support because of Trump and the fear of a mini Trump. 2-3 months ago the current polls would have been impossible yet here we are. Happy to see that while Trudeau has been for a bit too long, at least people agree that the opposite, PP, isn’t the way to go today.

  • Canadian here, I agree. Y’all need to scorched earth most of the DNC and have a true party for the people.

  • Maybe it’s a commentary on how much over relient we are to the States. Maybe

  • Yeah exactly that. Oblasts are the sub-divisions in Russia that operate like provinces (with less autonomy but details aren't important)

  • That sounds fun! I’m guessing it’s based on Eurovision which I’ve been watching every year since I was a little kid as an Russo-Ukrainian immigrant here in Canada. Can’t wait to see what comes out of it!

  • I love to see open-source get more love. Would appreciate to see a Canadian company start building RISC-V chips.

  • Absolutely. People treat eachother like they treat others irl.

  • Less bots, more genuine conversations, it’s also not as fast-paced as other social medias.

It’s great. It feels like a forum from back in late 2000s / early 2010 and I like it
