EU Adopts Groundbreaking Business Value Chain Law
  • I remain skeptical. Like the rest of the west, EU countries are notorious to turning a blind eye to pesky human rights getting in the way of their cheap goods. If they actually enforce this there won't be much to buy or they'll be fining a company every other day

  • Majority of Americans wrongly believe US is in recession – and most blame Biden
  • I think they meant on the political spectrum Biden is still right of center. Something that is entirely true and ppl find problematic. Just because Biden doesn't cry about bullshit like wokism and whine about the border doesn't mean the guy isn't politically conservative

  • Arizona state lawmaker used ChatGPT to write part of law on deepfakes
  • This is what you get when you continuously elect lawmakers with no political experience.

I'm actually fine with electing inexperienced lawmakers. I just want ones who are willing to ask for help/advice from others qualified to give it. Continuously electing beltway insiders just preserves the status quo

  • Segregation Academies Still Operate Across the South. One Town Grapples With Its Divided Schools.
  • The private school, Wilcox Academy, is what researchers call a “segregation academy” due to the historic whiteness of its student body and the timing of its opening. It’s down to 200 students across 12 grades. Housed in a single-story building with beige siding and brown brick veneer, the school offers chapel and core academic classes but not music, theater or band programs.

Down the road, the county’s public high school has more students and course options. Wilcox Central High’s building, with a medical-training lab and competition-sized swimming pool, could house 1,000 students. Instead, it barely draws 400, virtually all of them Black, from across the entire 888-square-mile county.

Imagine being so stupid and racist that you send your kid to a tar paper shack of a school instead of sending them to better one because black kids go there

  • What would Lisa Simpson do? NYU student protesters asked to ponder ethical issues
  • Lisa also had a habit of forcing her beliefs on others (like when Homer started his own religion, when he was stealing cable , and when she became a vegetarian) and often came across as condescending towards those she disagreed with. Thinking her intelligence made her better than most. That being said she was open to having her mind changed occasionally.

I rather be like Bart. I know I ain't shit but I know when shit is fucked up

  • Passing the DREAM Act Has Become a Nightmare
  • I can definitely blame the ppl trying to improve when they try to negotiate with ppl who deny reality. At some point when you're trying to compromise with the naked man throwing his own shit a cars in a Walmart parking lot you need to question your own intelligence
