Target to lower prices on thousands of basic items as inflation sends customers scrounging for deals
  • COVID disrupted production, or more so many companies expected decreased demand so they adjusted production down but work from home actually caused an excess demand and the market couldn't adjust. That was true for some goods, not all. Companies noticed that despite the higher prices on disrupted goods, demand didn't drop, so they used inflation as an excuse to raise prices across the board.

  • Trump's base used to use wake up all the time, I remember seeing it a lot in 2016 online by Trump supporters. Then at some point woke got adopted as anti-democrat and shortly after wake up was dropped from their vocabulary.

  • Bernie also ran in 2020. If he would have won South Carolina in the 2020 primary, he could be President now as that was the state that caused Joe Biden to rise to the favorite. Not acknowledging his electoral weakness doesn't help in getting another progressive to win in the future. But it’s also about doing the right thing more generally – following the law, acting honorably, and treating co-workers with courtesy and respect. The Google Code of Conduct is one of the ways we put “Don’t be evil” into practice.”

    Closing sentence:

And remember… don’t be evil, and if you see something that you think isn’t right – speak up!

The closing sentence that remains doesn't carry much weight without the preface.
