Anyone use DCU with ynab? Or can you recommend another online credit union?
  • Same as synchrony. You could ask the really friendly support on YNAB's chat if they can use the alternative provider (I think it's called MX). That tends to determine if it's going to work I think.

I work in financial services to the CUs and I have at least two credit unions that shorten their names to DCU. What's the first letter stand for?

  • Book Giveaway Contest
  • And if you don't have Premium (or just love audiobooks I'm general, wishlist the item on chirpbooks.com and when it goes on a 30-day sale you'll get notified, where you can then buy it for like 90% off. I love this service and it has changed the way I consume audiobooks. Like audible without the membership.

it's currently US$18.99 down from $20 if you have no Spotify and are unable to wait it out.

  • Do you often despise people who like you and help you a lot?
  • I wouldn't say I despise them, but the other negative emotion I have is feeling depressed at having been a burden that they decided they wanted, of their own free will, to help me. I hate it, it's so backward. It becomes a spiral of feeling melancholic for no reason and it just becomes a depression feedback loop.

  • The further down the rabbit hole I go, the more I'm questioning what I thought was 'normal' and what is actually a trait. Who knows, maybe it's dyscalculia. I do mix up the number 9 and letter N, for instance in a reference or ID number I have to remember.

  • Boost also had this handy feature where you could tap a button to see the parent comment. It would open a popup/modal window displaying the comment with the usual updoot/downdoot, quote/reply and parent buttons - so you could easily repeat the process and read the parent context up to the root.

That was handy in long complex threads.

  • 48 hours to logo contest end / v0.22.0 released!
  • You're gonna make it really difficult to jump on Boost for Lemmy when it comes out. Maybe I'll use both apps, or use Voyager on a specific device and Boost on another. 🤷‍♂️ I have been impressed from the get-go at how ready wefwef/Voyager has been since migrating from reddit. Not a fan of iOS, so I'm interested in having the in-app switch to change OS 'themes' in the web app framework you use!

Thank you for all your hard work and effort you have put into this app!

  • How do you track your personal budget?
  • Used to use gnucash on Linux desktop for a goooood long while. I wanted nicer reports so I shopped around with homebank (one developer so slow development but very nice project!) and tried money dance (didn't like it, though I tried really hard). Eventually tried my own spreadsheets and apsire budget but finally settled on YNAB because I need a hands-off approach as I'm so busy.

I reconcile accounts every few days and auto-sync my banks with plaid (YMMV on how much you're into that) and it works for me. I'm happy paying the subscription but if it ever goes to US$150/yr I'm probably going to quit it.

  • Huw Edwards named as presenter by his wife, is in Hospital
  • That's just it. Nothing unlawful seems to have occurred at this stage. Maybe he got a bit of Clarkson syndrome about his power and money, that remains to be seen.

But if this all fizzles out and he's able to professionally (and mentally) recover from it, I'd be happy to see/hear him orrsentythr present the news again (edit: keyboard went a bit psuedo-Welsh there ironically...) , when and if he is ready. It'd be like when Stephen Fry went missing and the nation was concerned for his wellbeing and return to public life.

Now it's just a sad story about personal lives being made public. At least the 'young person' is not in the public eye at the moment.
