  • I agree. It's strange. Anyone who has both those apps should check since that's what I see. I don't have the others.

  • From what I've read (take this with a grain of salt), the person you're talking about cracks games with a much older version of denuvo. They're apparently a lot easier to crack than those being done by this psycho.

  • I'd think cocaine would be a better choice for an FPS, tbh.

  • It's also inconsistent between apps (you can check Voyager and Connect if you're on Android), and if you check mine it would probably be different from what I see. Personally, I'd like it to stay that way. The reddit karma system has its pros, but imho it doesn't outweight the negatives.

  • Dang. I forgot about the stutters. It felt... Bloated somehow? Idk how to describe it. Joey, on the other hand, felt pretty "light" to me. Easier to navigate and you can personlize it, too.

  • Honestly? Yes. I've tried to make it work twice, both times because of the chat feature. Couldn't stand it. Playing videos is 50/50, threw a few errors at me that I never experienced with TPAs, it's highly unintuitive specially with those huge ads taking up most of the space.

Yes. It's awful. It was so bad I stuck with a TPA and just used chat (if I had to) on browser on my pc.

  • With a 4.7 rating? Really, you guys? What's going on there?

  • New in Linux and chose an Arch-based distro. Brave. Jk. I hope you enjoy your stay with EOS. You're gonna love the aur and wiki. Also, get timeshift.

Just one question (actually 2, but eh): are you on desktop or laptop? What made you choose Gnome (if you're on desktop)?

  • I, too, call upon lemmy now for the important tasks like shitting.

  • As someone who almost drowned as a child, swimming is up there for me.

  • Same. I've seen only a few, but thankfully no one's been a douche to me (yet? Pls don't start lol). I'd imagine there are tons I haven't seen yet. When people moved from reddit, it wasn't exclusively just the good parts that came over. In my experience, though, it's a lot less than in reddit.

  • A lot of us are consciously being more active here than we ever were on reddit. Over at discord, a few people are actually doing stuff that helps promote lemmy/kbin like listing communities that migrate, helping out new users, etc. It's amazing to see people just working more than they did to make this small community successful. I'm not gonna waste that.

  • I honestly had no clue. Before you guys answered, I was thinking it was more about the economy. I appreciate the explanation.

  • Why those 2 countries? Genuinely curious. Not in EU and I don't really know what's going on there.

  • I vape now. I used to smoke a lot. I agree it can be effective but the end result may not always be complete withdrawal from nicotine.

While certainly not healthy, it’s significantly much less bad for you than smoking.

It's much better, tbh, aside from the health benefits vs cigarettes. The stench is no longer there - at worse, it's just this annoying sweet smell. No more cig butts that you have to dispose of all the time - I know use "pods" which, if I'm stressed, I replace after 5-6 days. If anyone's a smoker, I'd recommend to switch to vape. But if not, I'd suggest they stay away from vapes/nicotine.

  • Idk if you're being serious, but "forums" is also accepted and isn't wrong.

  • I'd go with a "light" DE for now, or a WM if possible (although it's very different from windows). Your laptop isn't bad - it's actually better than mine (i3 with no discrete gpu), but i added 8gb ram (now it's 12gb total) and it was a game-changer.

Imo, Mint or Debian is okay if you don't want to stray far from Windows but your choice of DE is pretty limited with a small amount of ram. Maybe use xfce?

Also check out antix, puppy linux, or lubuntu. Those might be better choices while you haven't upgraded your memory. Idk much about dual boot since I use Linux alone on my laptop or vm on my desktop.

  • I wish everyone is like you. I don't wear masks outdoors anymore, but I still do in places like malls where there are tons of strangers. They can get pretty uncomfortable, but if it helps me avoid covid, the flu, or even colds then I'm all for it.

  • I know a lot of doctors who are overweight/obese, have unhealthy lifestyles, and/or make dumb personal decisions. I go to doctors for their expertise in their fields; that doesn't mean I'd trust their personal decisions.
