One way or another I'm moving to Linux for my next PC. but damn I finally think I understand enough to decide Debian would be a good 'it just works' distro and then Linux users out the woodwork telling me its actually a pain in the ass and to use XYZ (all disagreeing) distros instead. I'm like 90% sure its going to be Debian, Ubuntu or Mint but beyond that its more uncertain than the inside of a black hole.
If it makes you feel better the UKs only been in election season for a week and we've already seen 2 different attempts at election interferance by the current ruling party.
Sure hope we don't get temperatures like this over water for any prolonged period...
Last I saw it the game was pretty functional in some aspects but we're now at a point where some of the older assets look 2 generations out of date so the game is accumulating a growing amount of artistic debt where the old stuff just doesn't fit with the newer stuff anymore.
The Southern hemisphere gets more extereme seasons. Earths orbit is eliptical and the point where its closest to the sun lines up with southern hemisphere summer making it hotter (and making northern hemisphere winter milder) The same goes for winter with the earth being furthest from the sun roughly during winter in the southern hemisphere. As the earths axis proceeds this effect swaps hemispheres every now and then. (5000 years iirc?)
Its been quoting some onion articles verbatim, so either they pulled from the onion directly or from somewhere that re-posts onion articles.
Its worse than reddit, they've been pulling data from the onion.
As a long time valkyr main she always felt kind of like a glass (pre shield gating) cannon sidegrade with a bit of 'new frame thats just a better rework of an existing frame' thrown in. A dream to play for melee enjoyers with solid claws, forced slash and a leap ability that's just really nice and makes me super jealous that hysterias leap augment is so bad (insert rant).
She is starting to show her age just a little bit with melee arcanes not being equippable on her claws and blood altar generally being outclassed by gloom or companion healing options.
With physical media those licenses didn't materially matter though because a contract you can't read until after a purchase is automatically void in court.
The proportion is roughly 30% but that 30% are much easier to rally and thus form a single large voting block.
I feel like the 'Jarvis assistant' is most likely going to be a much simpler siri type thing with a very restricted chatbot overlay. And then there will be the open source assistant that just exist to help you sort through the bullshit generated by other chatbots.
I dunno even if there is no you in a metaphysical sense the deconstruction method still ends your personal subjective experience of being you which sucks. Sure the next you might be just as much you as the first one but you don't get to be around to enjoy that.
Honestly if your in the UK that's basically true, we do have standards but for some reason there are different ones for appliances and structures and they also keep changing and not everyone updates their manufacturing when they do. In college we were told to just look it up because you can't memorize them all and some of them use very similar colours but in a different order.
I feel like if we want national service just make it part of scouts... in fact the UK already has a scout summer camp thing thats basically kiddies first army training. Its just rather expensive. If instead we made it free and maybe even incentivized (Army scouts = summer camp + your first part time job?) it'd firstly be voluntary and secondly we'd have a way better recruiting pool for the actual army when people get older. The lack of commitment would also mean people maybe not interested in the army but curious can give it a try and at the very least the people who went would come back moderately fitter and able to serve in a militia in the unlikely event the UK mainland is ever invaded.
iirc dogs do out perform humans but only in cold climates. They're also second place in general which is a big part of how the whole dog thing got started.
Honestly thats my plan, subtly adjust all my buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo comments to induce stupid behaviour in any AI thats trained on them
In the US cops routinely beat up unarmed peaceful protestors while being pretty respectful to armed but still ostensibly peaceful protestors.
So we should all start ending our comments with a randomly generated string of words to fuck with the models?
stork, fridge, tiger, animal, mineral, oxtail, oil, clouds
chatto gpt?
I know they're pretty much the worst companions in the game but I really love my helminth charger, glad I can run around with four of them now.
So its 25 ammo to instant freeze a praetorian with a 1.5s charge time... Except I can freeze a praetorian in the same time and with about half the ammo just using the regular cryo cannon fire. Am I missing something or is this overclock somewhat lacking in a use case?
Tried to make this thing using only materials available at the start of the game: wood, stone, dirt, sand, iron and gel. Its got a full crafting setup, space for a hellivator and storage room. It also deliberately doesn't count as housing so NPCs won't barge in but I can still set my spawn.
Just saw this exploded cop car driving around after sending not-glados back to delamain. Also had a whole cool car chase followed by a bike crash when taking that one cab slowly back to del though and another took me past the the car I'm driving so huge improvements overall.
All the frame parts for the default starter AC were made by RaD. Really love that little detail just tying back the whole deal with Walter and Carla right to the very first time we open the AC assembly. It was right there in front of me and I didn't even notice.
According to steam achievements I've obtained every single AC part but I can't help but notice the head piece used in the second stage of the final boss fight is absent. I'm really hoping its some kind of secret unlock and not just completely unobtainable.
So for a quck refresher the venomthrope statline is as follows: [M6" / T5 / Sv4+ / W3 / Ld8 / OC1] 70pts for a unit of 3 They have 5 attacks on an anti-infatry 2+ weapon.
A malanthrope in comparison is 75 pts and otherwise identical stats excepting 10 wounds and Ld7, it also has a garbage weapon of its own.
So why take a malanthrope instead of 3 more venomthropes? Well first of all it completely offsets its own weak attacks by giving the whole unit access to sustained-hits 1 and since anti-X weapons count as critical hits its immediately doubling the damage output of the acompanying venomthropes.
The malanthrope is also bringing synapse to the unit and increasing foul spores radius from 6" to 9". As a final advantage its 10 wounds are in one model, a normal unit of 6 venomthropes would lose effectiveness for every 3 wounds lost however a unit of 3 venomthropes with an attatched malanthrope can maintain full effectiveness for 9 wounds before damage output begins to fall.
Theoretically the benefits of a malanthrope only grow greater if attatched to a unit of 6 venomthropes as their fighting power would increase to that of 12 ordinary venomthropes for only 3/4 the cost.
As much for flavour as optimization how do you guys like to kit out your starter fleet?
