Is there a way to say "East Asian" that isn't Eurocentric?
  • But, East Asia means the East of Asia because it is relative to the rest of Asia no?

For example, you would call France and England Western Europe, even though they are to your east, but relative to the rest of Europe they are to the west.

However, if you were simply calling it the East, or the orient then yes, that would be euro-centric. But I don't think using East Asia would be.

  • Hasn't happened yet
  • I think it's the most common places that the planes got hit when returning back to base during WW2, it's most commonly used when discussing survivorship bias. Which I believe is their intent with said picture.
