No penalties for Verstappen, two reprimands via @ChrisMedlandF1 on Twitter
  • To quote Seb, "Well I think it's complete bullshit to be honest 🙄" but that's me sitting here as a casual viewer not stewards knowledge/access.

To me it just feels like another classic inconsistency in decision making.

  • UK wages grow at record rate
  • My problem here isn't about real terms (which you might notice I didn't even say). It's about the fact that in a cost of living crisis this article even exists. It's incredibly tone deaf and feels very much like a "ooh look at the shiny" slight of hand. "Things can't be that bad, look wages are growing!" Does that sound like an accurate assessment of the economic situation here right now?

Yes, wages have grown - that's great but it's not particularly relevant when a lot of people are reliant on food banks to eat. Including those who have had an 8% pay rise.

Having more money is great, but only when you can actually get more with it.

  • Success: Using ChatGPT to solve a complex HA task involving YAML and Lovelace
  • I use ChatGPT/LLMs all the time for YAML. I'm not good at coding and sometimes the HA forums can be hard for me to understand as sometimes things are suggested that are asssumed-knowns.

Yeah it doesn't get it right every time but at the very least it can point me in a direction to start doing my own googling. Most of the time though ChatGPT or Bard actually give me solutions that work with one or two revisions. After I have a solution in place that works I'll then try and break it down to understand why it works and what everything does in an effort to learn instead of relying on LLMs

  • Saturday Chatterday!
  • Spent the morning running errands, hospital appointment, breakfast with mum now I'm staying indoors for the rest of the day. Currently awaiting a cheeky chinese for lunch.

  • I like the interface, and have been a user of the reddit version for years...
  • I love FOSS but I too use Sync. Used it on Reddit for the better part of a decade and it's made Lemmy more accessible for me and also some friends.

In the end if people are happy to pay for a client, which then builds the membership of Lemmy communities - what's the big fucking deal? I'm very happy to be here and very happy to continue supporting a dev that does fantastic work.
