[Discussion] SquaredCircle..we've seen a lot of championship titles come and go over the decades. What is your favourite (or, least favourite)?
  • If I recall this correctly it was Michelle McCool and Layla (tag teaming as LayCool either before of after this) I think it must have been a triple treat match, and they both got the pin. They both had hold of the title claiming they won the match, and I think that’s when the “breaking” occurred. They were then named joined champs. If that’s not exactly right it got to be very similar.

  • Gable Steveson released from WWE contract
  • Not surprised. WWE were trying to make him the next Angle since they initially signed him. Made him a top draft pick some years ago, but never used him and in the couple of NXT matches he had, fans just booed him.

  • WON: WWE's PG Era is Considered Officially Over
  • To be honest I like the way it is now, because then when something like The Rock throwing out the F Bombs and making Cody bleed the way he did, it made more of an impact. When it happens every 30 seconds and there is blood in every match it just loses its impact.

  • What if the F1 champion was banned like F2? A new history
  • Interesting watch. He even said near the end that of course the results would be flawed for the following seasons as he just uses the remaining drivers and not a new driver that would replace the leaving champion in that team. So the only time new drivers are added in that timeline is when new drivers are added in real life to the teams.

  • Per PWI, WWE is cutting back on the augmented reality (outside of PLE's/Special occasions)
  • They won’t be missed. There were only a few that really added to a wrestlers entrance. The rest just looked forced and didn’t really work well. The best one I remember was when Apollo Crews came out and had those two lion statues on either side (it was during his brief royalty gimmick, was that it?). At least they looked like they were a part of the stage set and not just floating graphics.

  • Which movies have aged like fine wine? (either in their message or cinematography)
  • Jurassic Park. Those dinos beat many of today’s CGI films. Mixed in with the animatronic ones they just blend in so well. The story is simple (to quote Dr Malcolm) God creates dinosaurs. God destroys dinosaurs. God creates man. Man destroys God. Man creates dinosaurs. There are so many quotable lines, as shown just now, and the music is pretty unforgettable too.

  • What is your favorite Nintendo platform?
  • I’ve owned every machine so each one means a little something to me. The N64 was the first I bought with my own money and that had some amazing games. I still own my whole collection.

However I think I’m going with the Switch. So many great games, many more ported from the WiiU and me and friends are still playing Mario Kart and Smash Brothers weekly online.

  • [ESPN] 'That's what makes it magic': The inside story on WWE's fan-driven WrestleMania pivot
  • I had been going back and forth on whether the whole thing was the story that was planned out from the start or not. Both make sense, and even with how they have gone now it easily lends itself to The Rock v Roman in the near future as if it was the plan.

Night 1, Rock pins Cody in the tag match setting up the Bloodline Rules match. (I don’t see Seth being involved in the fall and Cody pinning Roman then wouldn’t seem right. He could pin Rock but then Rock is the Final Boss, not the one up under him. Anyway, Bloodline Rules match just puts that bit more uncertainty that with all the Bloodline involved Cody won’t win. However, he has to, to finish the story, so with some help (possibly Cody and Jey) he wins the title on Night 2. Now the easy set up for Rock V Roman. Rock comes out, demands the Bloodline come to the ring and then asks Roman how he managed to lose when he (The Rock) had set it all up perfectly for him to retain. Cue a brawl, Rock is face again and they can have a Match either at SummerSlam or the next big event.

  • What item do you own that has an unexpectedly high value?
  • Not sure if these would be unexpectedly high values as most people know they fetch a little bit, but I have all my old N64 games still boxed with most of the original inserts too. The one I know most would be Conkers Bad Fur Day, that always seems to fetch a nice price.

A couple of my Funko Pop figures are possibly worth a few hundred but nothing more.

And I have the full set of Hobbit and Lord of the Rings Lego sets which I know go for a bit over the original price.

  • Wicked - First Look
  • I’ve seen people say that it’s being done over two parts as they’ve added quite a bit more from the book to this and it’s not just an adaptation of the stage show. I’d still prefer films like this to just be one film (you can push 3 hours) rather than splitting them up.

Wicked is my absolute favourite and I’ve been looking forward to this since I first heard about it. I do hope this has even half the success as the stage musical.
