Sphere in Las Vegas made $167.8M in revenue for first three full months | KSNV
  • Yeah I was really disappointed when I saw that. Went to a show on their "farewell tour" last year, and they were really hyping up the fact it would be the last opportunity to see them live. Tickets were already stupid expensive. Not only was that a complete lie, but now they're playing at this ridiculous monolith? I feel slightly betrayed.

  • NASA Finally Removes Last Two Fasteners To Access Historic Bennu Asteroid Sample
  • I was curious about that too. They look like Torq-set to me, being that the slots are offset from the center of the screw. If that's the case they're shouldn't be any cam out at all.

In either case the fasteners that were stuck appear to be Hex head, and the phillips looking fasteners just held a protective cover in place (?)

I would imagine NASA would know better than to use Philips for anything lol.

By the way there is a link on the page to more images of the assembly

  • ‘The Grand Tour’ Not Moving Forward at Amazon Prime Video With Hosts Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond
  • I love the grand tour, but especially in the last few specials you can tell they're getting pretty old to be doing the kind of traveling and shenanigans that is expected of them. With clarksons farm, our man in x and the few youtube channels they have I'm ready for them to move on and embrace new avenues of creativity.

  • Cable bin
  • Yep, we both failed there. So what's your strategy for organizing cables that reduces waste without sacrificing convinience? Personally I've been using the same exact ziploc bags for 13 years, so is that really waste?

  • Shows like Master Chef and Hell's Kitchen are designed to glamorize low-paying, labor intensive restaurant jobs and recruit people into the field.
  • I don't think I agree. Who watches Hells Kitchen and thinks, "man, doing extremely complex and fast paced cooking in a stressful environment with a chef who's verbally assaulting me at every moment seems very appealing, I should change my occupation!" Aside from people with a superiority complex and a 'Can't lose' mentality.

I honestly think it's more likely to drive people away from jobs in the food industry, especially if they're not already interested in cooking. That being said the dramatization factor is definitely there, and I would hope that most people at this stage would recognize that "reality" tv and competitions like this don't actually represent reality at all, at least in most circumstances.
