  • Tails Noir was a cool little game! I really liked it. 🤩

  • Not sure if "best" is the right word, but Joel's death scene was so impactful, even when I knew he had it coming and had to happen.

Also, over a decade ago but inFamous 2 evil ending when you last encounter Zeke. Oof, what a gut punch!

  • Thank you!!! Yes, the full game is going to be a complete story. There are only two of us working on it, but we are planning to release the whole game in late 2026. The demo is awaiting approval by Steam, and once that is complete, a few final touches should be enough to release it more broadly. Our demo is actually the first chapter of three, and we have all three chapters mapped out already. It's just a matter of bringing the last two up to snuff and then doing a final polish run.

  • Forgot about Child of Light! Striking visuals on it, too!

  • Yeah! I can see that! Unravel comes to mind too (Out of nowhere)

What is the most "Indie Feeling" game that is definitely NOT from an Indie Studio?

I'm working on a Sci-fi Point and Click adventure called Hope: A Sky Full of Ghosts. A demo is coming in a few weeks, and I would love a wishlist if the game sounds like your jam.

  • Stray was a good one! There's a tiny one called The Last Day of June on PlayStation Plus (I think it's still there) that I liked too. It's at most 4 hours, but the story guides it, if you like that kind of game.

  • I agree, a game can just be a "game". It doesn't need a story to be fun. My issue with the current trend isn't that games "need" a story, it's the bloat added to fun games to keep you in them artificially.

From battle passes and special currencies for multiplayer games to thousands of tiny, pointless collectables in single-player games that are there just to keep you busy.

Hell, Tetris is the most played game in the world (or close to it), and it has no story and no bloat.

  • Thanks for taking a look ☺️. There are no AI or ARG elements to the game. Are you able to elaborate on what made you think that was the case?

  • Glad to know you like them ☺️

  • Thanks! I think I will. I just need to get over myself on this.

I was told to bring my Sci-fi Point and Click adventure to you! It's called Hope: A Sky Full of Ghosts. I'd love it of you checked it out and, if it's up your alley, wishlist it.
